    Default t 98 transmission

    Good afternoon,

Just checking to see if anyone can advise on how to remove the shifter from the T98 without taking the top cover off.

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
Unscrew the domed ring at the base of the shifter. It will pull right out after that.

When you pull the shifter, make sure you donīt drop the little alignment dowel pin... Specially inside the transmission!!

Put it in a gear that you will remember which one you put it in later...I like to use Neutral.
    Take of the shifter boot.
Unscrew the big dome at the base of the shifter.
Push out the roll pin that holds the stick on...theres a little cut out area under the dome on the sides to push it out through.

I will give it a shot tomorrow, got my 6.2 flywheel and hydraulic bellhousing this week and hopefully the reassembly will start Saturday.
I will try to upload a few pics tomorrow.
