Thread: 6.2 swap

    Default 6.2 swap

Finally getting started with the 6.2 swap, just wondering if the 6.2 will sit on the factory frame mounts using the Novak Kit? I currently have a tired 350 in the truck with the full Novak Kit and have heard mixed reviews on the 6.2 fitting in the stock location, some say its to wide others say its to long and the mounts need to be moved forward on the frame rails.

Any feedback is appriciated as always.

You and Sermis need to start calling each other. His 6.2 swap you have replied to is using the Novak kit he originally had his 350 mounted with.

I just talked to him last night and he never mentioned mount trouble. Clutch linkage, fan close to radiator hoses and a few other troubles, yes. Mount problems no.
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.

    Default 6.2 engine mounts

I used an Advance Tranny Adapter, but I'm sure it is the same thickness as the Novak. Seems like the mounts lined up fairly close front to back. With an ATS turbo mounted on top of the engine I needed to lower the engine a bit to get the Air Cleaner to clear the hood so I cut down my engine mounts a bit and drilled a new hole through them for the mounting pin. The M715 original towers were untouched. Here's a picture:
