Is there a winch operations guide any where on here? I could not find one in the online maint manuals. I need help understanding the lever postions on the winch and a general "how to" operate. Thanks, Lanny

Two sources are available on this forum. Go to the very top of this page and click on "Online Manuals" Then select the online Operators Manual. Under chapter 2, Operations, in the index, click on "Operations Under Unusual Conditions" You will find the following statement about the winch:
Front Mounted Winch
The M715 front mounted winch has a. 7,500 pound rated line pull at a minimum line speed of 15 feet per minute. The 150-foot wire rope is continuous in length with no splices and measures 7/16 inch in diameter. The rope is provided with a clevis assembly and has an end chain measuring four feet in length. The winch can be engaged or disengaged from the front bumper. The direction of rotation and the speed are controlled from the cab.
Before operating, place the winch clutch shifter handle (located on the winch) in the engaged position. Then operate the shift lever in the cab in accordance with the instruction plate. The shift lever is on the floor to the right of the driver’s seat.
The data plate, which I don't have a picture of, Shows the Winch Drive Control.
The lever has three positions. Middle is "Disengaged" (not operating). With the lever forward, "Cable In" . Lever aft or back, "Cable Out"
Also in the Online manuals there is a Military Winching Guide that is generic for many military vehicle. General info and such.
Thanks again to Brute4c for providing these and other manuals for FREE on this website.
Some more thoughts:
Exercise EXTREME caution when using the winch.
The lever on the winch housing will disengaged the cable drum when move away from the winch (towards the passenger side of the truck) and Engage the drum when moved
towards the winch. I would not move this lever with the winch running.
