    Default Clutch......

Ok I am going to replace my Flywheel and I figured I would replace the clutch while I was in there. Is this a part that can be bought from AutoZone ,Napa etc...... If so does anyone know what I need ask for Whenever I go in and ask for anything for My M715 they just get a blank look on there face , so will a Civilian clutch work?

Civvy clutch works fine...heres what has been used before:

    Car Quest parts:
Heavy duty Clutch disk: Westling # RBP CD3271
Heavy duty Pressure plate: Westling # RBP CA1470
Throw out Bearing: Fed Mogul # BGS 1562
    Rear main Seal: # JV734

Doing the rear main while you are in there makes sense...if it leaks...

Are you replacing the flywheel for a reason? If it is because of the teeth, AB Linn has/had replacement rings in the $10 range. Very easy to replace.

The civilian 230 uses the same clutch and flywheel as the mil engine...unless someone screwed up part numbers, the civvy part is the mil part...I have both engines in the shop and have run the tape over them more than once. The only difference in the area is the pilot bushing...the civvy one is smaller ID than the mil one.

Carquest numbers can be crossed by other stores to their numbers...I know I bought one at Napa years ago and it was identical to the factory one.

In fact, if you look at this page:
    http://homepages.tscnet.com/thebarn/Buick_Clutch.pdf
it shows the clutch part number: CD3271
It also says that even though it is 10.5 inches, it will fit in that application where a 10 inch clutch originally came...so it verifies the 10.5 inch diameter.
