    Welcome to the Zone.

We are going to need more information however. Do you want to add Od to the stock engine, swap out drive trains, add a range box to the t-case, etc...?
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.

There really is no overdrive to put on the stock drivetrain.

    Most common methods are:

Bigger tires...gives some relief from high rpms, but not a lot.
Springover up front with even bigger tires...helps more...
Ring and pinion swaps in both front and rear axles...to 4.56 gears usually.
Change engine and transmission and use an overdrive transmission.

    Read: http://www.jpmagazine.com/projectbui...ect/index.html

They used an Advance Adapters ranger torque Splitter (overdrive model)... they also had a different engine and tranny but it sounds like you could order one to fit right in to our stock setup... some fabrication most likely required.

If you add the overdrive befor the NP200 you will have heat issues at highway speeds.

Your best bet would be a re-gear to eliminate the heat issue in the NP200 and to give you driveability, plus still be able to wheel off-road reasonably.

Any overdrive unit will need a fair amount of fabrication, and modification, along with new driveshafts.

The ranger overdrive is the center section shown above betwean the bell housing and the 4-speed /w PTO.

Yup. The transfer case won't see anything different.

If one has an overdrive AND drives no faster than before the overdrive, the tcase wont have any more problems than at present.
If one has an overdrive AND drives faster than before, the tcase will get hotter.
