    Default Lifting eye's on engine

I have studied my engine closely looking for a good place to attach a lifting eye/eye's. I need to hoist it out for the frame blast. I will be keeping the trans attached while doing this. Last time I literaly yanked the old one out and didn't care if it wasn't right or bent something. Gotta not do that this time.
Also, last night I discovered the forward most freeze plug corroded and missing, popped out, gone. Can I just pop in a new one or does this indicate an underlying problem?
I think I'm going to call this truck "Tetanus" because of all the rust, I've broken off more bolts than I've unscrewed/saved.

    Ahhh, the "Tetanus Express"

The freeze plug issue should be carefully looked at while you're there, but as long as the surface it sits in is OK, then I'd install a new one (all of them really) and see what happens. Were it me with that and the busted valve cover, I'd be inclined to pull the pan and head and have a look, then reseal everything anyway.

Can't comment on the lift points though, as I can't recall the layout of the 230 and its various mount points.

Thanks Randy, that sounds like a really good idea. I wonder if head gasket's are easy to get? And this sucker has a profound leak around the main seal area. I'll have to find one of those too.
The plan is to go get the second engine and use it as a donor or full on replacement if necessary.

There are lift hooks on opposite corners of the engine, They are shown in one of the manuals. I'll look later tonight, the Warden wants to go to the new Sonic burger jount tonight ,now that it's above zero degrees ,its 8 above. Sonic has the girls that bring your meal to the car, thing is right now they're on ice skates ,not roller blades, and wearing insulated bikinis.

Ah, thanks here, too. I just took that thing off the other day because I didn't know what the heck it was. I figured the PO had bolted something on.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did that set you back?

I am also looking for a complete gasket set. Any idea if they have any more? How do I contact them?
