    Default rear main seal question

    rear main seal question.....

had to change broken flywheel bolts, and am changing the rear main seal, the question I have is

I have a seal, but do not have the two tangs that press in on either side of the seal, I really dont want to have to spend 28.00 for a another seal to get the tangs. is there a place to get those seperatly?

or has anyone ever used black rtv in place of those? I do not use RTV often in motor builds except at the corners of the rubber seals on an oil pan gasket, and in the front and rear of an intake instead of the cork. but dont know if this will fly in the ends on the ream main seal cap.
