    Default Vacuum Lines to axels

I just got my first M715 at the beginning of the summer, fooled around with it enough to get it on the road but lots more work to do and questions to ask so Ill start with this.

I’ve got a vacuum line (I think thats what they are) coming off the front pumpkin and another line come off the axel on the drivers side of the rear pumpkin, they merge and the line dead ends in near the carb. I’m guessing it used to be hooked in to the vacuum system some how but don’t how. The carb and all lines have been replaced and I can’t find any info about it in the repair manual. Maybe there not stock? And is that why I cant get power to both front tires in 4 wheel drive? Any info would help thanks.

They are stock and they should run to the large hose coming out of the drivers side of the block between the carb and alternator, down low...the crankcase vent hose...its about the size of a quarter. On the side of the crankcase vent hose is a fitting for the lines to mount. The front and rear axles, transfer case and bellhousing vents all end up connected here.
There is a fitting on the side of the trans where some of the vent lines come together and make 1 line that continues to the crankcase vent hose.

Depending on whether you have the early style, carb moute air cleaner or the later, large canister mounted to the underside of the hood type, there is a simple vent diagragm on the links below:

The front axle differential is your standard run of the mill open configuration, so your probably experiencing wheel spin on loss of traction. Brute had a post about it in the archives somewhere I think.

Here is an image from the Project Managers manual that I have marked the Crankcase Vent and pointed out the vent line coming from the rear aand mounting to the crankcase vent:
