I used 1" rubber spacers between the body and frame. They compressed a little. You arn't gaining any ground clerance, water fording, etc. Mybe a little tire clerance. I am runnning 11.00 / 16's and it looks good with no tie rub. Much more it might look kinda funky like the little jeeps with a body lift.
I don't know about that. If you use yours for any off roading, I would shy against it. Someone on the zone, just before it crashed, found some longer spring shackles. I would use very little body lift, if any.
Body lifts=Bad idea, that high.
Same with longer shackles. Mess up your pinion angles and your caster at the same time. Plus, you don't get that much lift out of them. So either get new springs, smaller tires, or drop the hangers.
Ok sounds like no body lift. I just thought since I had the body off it would be easy.
Are there any places out there that manufacture drop hangers for our M-trucks?
I don't think ANYBODY makes drop hangers. You make them yerself.
?????????? hmm.
I dont make them myself...my buddy fab'ed a set for his '86 High Sierra, he's building me a set. I'll be sure to let everyone know how they turn out..I even promise pictures...just dont expect it too soon. These are extended plans.
i did about a 3" body lift on mine real easy to do clutch linkage was the only adjustment i needed i used solid round steel center drilled for the stock bolt size used longer bolts i used a engine hoist and did it by myself in a couple of hours probably because the original bolts came out easy
