    Default Valve Spring Removal Tool

I don't know about everyone else. But, sometimes I get distracted on the internet and end up going down a path I didn't intend and hours later find something really cool I had no idea about before. This is the result of such a diversion. A valve spring removal tool that you hit with a hammer to get the keepers off and then you hit again to put them back on:

    The thing is so cool!

Amazon has a set of the big and small ones for around $60.00.

I have wasted untold hours with the little bitty valve spring screw down compressor, a magnet on a stick and a high frustration level to want to try this tool out.
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.

And the best thing about using that tool?

The BFH. Nothing says precision tooling better than overhauling the engine with a BFH.

That is what I thought too. Then I started researching it. Most people can just push on it without the BFH. I was thinking bent valves when he used it the first time. It seems that is a very rare occurrence.

I just thought it was neat.

It is high on the cool factor, but only because you take you little engine apart with a hammer.

I liked the rope. Probably would make me fell better than the air method.
