Carb problems
So, I'm having issues with my carb....got the rebuild kit, replaced all the needles and o rings (old float), seems to have much better response....but....if it idles for more than a minute or 2 it shuts off like its getting too much fuel. not much of a carb guy, but I know I have put it back together the way it came apart. will the float not being level cause it to be getting too much fuel? and if so what is the proper "setting" for the float? its a holley 1920 1b

An incorrect float setting will definitely cause problems. I am not at home right now to check my notes. But look at this section and that may help. Hopefully, one of the members knows how high the float should be set.
Also, if your float is a hollow brass float, make sure it doesn't have a hole in it. I think that they were all a foam material.

foam floats were knowed to absorb gas over time and get heaver but that should have showed up case before the rebuild.

After replacing the float needle and it's seat, you must readjust the float to proper height (at least check it).
Mine required adjustment.
I can't find the instructions from the carb rebuild kit at this time, but I'm sure that one of the online manuals at the top page (one does and one doesn't) show adjusting the float, and checking the fuel level in the bowl.
