PTO for NP205
I have been looking all over for the model # for the PTO that would fit a Dodge NP205 transfer case. Does anyone have any information on this?
I bought a PTO that supposedly would work and of course it didn't. I also should find out what my PTO fits but I cant find a chart with all the applications on it. Any help would be appreciated.

I just watched ebay hard when I was looking for one.

Ebay is where I bought this last one and the seller told me it would work on the transfer case. The gears are at a slightly different angle so the holes would not line up. I just wish that I knew whatthe one I have fits, so I can sell this one to a person who actually could use it.
I will try it out on the SM465 and T98 sitting in the garage to see if it would happen to fit either of those.

Rotate the large gear around until you can read the number on the side and then email that # to me and I'll look it up for you. I'll see if I can find the one you need also. You can't always trust the code on the data plate because the gears get swapped.

Bob, do you have a pn on yours that you can post? Thanks.

Maybe you can post a pic of your PTO, shoot me your email address and I can send you some stuff to look through. I haven't found your gear yet so it looks to be a very early version PTO. The NP205 gear is a 5P1019, it's right helix and 23 teeth.
The partial tag numbers you gave me weren't any help. I'll keep looking for you.

I am having issues posting since my computer all of a sudden doesn't recognise my camera any more. I need to fix it soon to post the pic of the PTO...

I've poured through Chelsea tech and can't find much to assist with. I think your best bet is to contact a local truck shop that handles hydraulics and ask them what model # you would need for your application. Most of the people on ebay selling PTO's have no clue what they have, even when they think they do and it's going to be hit and miss and you might buy 5 ptos before you get lucky.
I have two Muncie 422 NP205 PTOs, one is a direct drive for a shaft and the other is for a pump. Neither pto's helical gear is stamped with a # consistent with thier applications guide. Both gears appear identical but one is stamped 939158 and the other is stamped 34325, go figure... I don't even know if the SP# I gave you before is accurate anymore...

This is a Muncie 422 series NP205 PTO set up for a pump. The first series of numbers might be a help. Also, you can get an idea what the two gears should look like (some models have only one gear). There is no tag on my other pto
Maybe this helps some...
