what is the best way to go with the tcase attached or divorced ? what is the pros and cons . i have a line on a 700r4 with attached np 205 tcase and would like to know if i should wait for a divorced one because maybe one is better than the other ? if this makes any differance i am going with a chevy 350 tuned port injection
Married case. That means 2 less u-joints to worry about.
There would be less lost motion (slop) with a married case.
use what you already have, whatever it is.....al
One nice advantage with a divorced case is that you can run pretty much any transmission. All the 4WD stuff commands a high price, but 2WD stuff can be had cheap to free.
I can't say sitting in the drivers seat, I can tell any difference in a divorced transfer case vs a married case when I am wheeling.
I must confess. I'm going with the divorced case 'cuz that is what is privvy to me. If I had my pick I'd generally go married. As long as it makes things better I'd say good. Do it.
The main advantage I see to divorced besides increasing transmission options is that you can center it exactly between the axles and thus have the same length front and rear driveshafts and carry only one spare if you choose to carry spares.
EDIT: P.S. I'm going married because that's what came at the right price.
also divorced allows better drive shaft angles when you go big.
