Thank you for the advice! I have determination and patience… And I understand numbers and letters, so… Fingers crossed I don’t start a fire. What kind and where did you get your signal switch for the M715?

You need 3 things to do the swap:
M series solid state turn signal arm with the clamp that holds it to the steering column. This part was universally used on all M series vehicles from 1968 or so on. M35, HMMWV, 5 ton, etc…. Just not on the Dodge or Chevy CUCV trucks.
M series solid state 3 wire flasher unit. This is a little black box that will fail if you look at it wrong. I have probably a dozen of them and only 2.5 are good. Buy only a tested good unit.
Wiring harness that connects the blinker arm and the signal box. This harness will have the leads that go to the rest of the truck wiring system and were the actual conversion magic will take place.
The normal surplus dealers such as Memphis equipment and Boyce will have them. eBay is another great source.
Thank you for the in depth response, I’m a fan of Memphis Equipment Company, so I’ll probably start there.
If you are changing over to the solid state type, I documented the conversion on mine when I did it...link:

Thank you! Thank you brute4c! I purchased a solid-state, and I will be switching it over next week. That diagram those photos so helpful!
Thats the whole reason for the site...glad its working and best of luck! Feel free to post any questions OR, hopefully, a sucessful swap!
You got it! Part comes Wednesday.
Sorry, it has been three months, but I got called away for work. Just put the turn signal in the truck, your directions were perfect! Thank you very much for the support and positive words.
I have photos, how do you post them?
