the transfer case "np 200" on my truck still works but i just replaced rear oil seal and found that i could grab the output shaft and move it side to side,in and out. are these units werth rebulding, i plan on running a big block and large tires? 0r should i get a 205?

If they are rebuilt properly, they are a good strong case...if you are going to drive much on the highway, the 205 is a better choice as it is a more modern version of the NP200 and handles higher RPMs better without overheating problems.
Both can handle the power of the big block but the RPM's would be the difference.

if i was going to put a 205 in what is my best rout, a devoced out of a dodge or convert to a maried setup with a 465 trans/205 tcase out of a chevy?

What engine are you gonna run....if BB chevy, the 465/205 married would be my choice...If BB Dodge, then the divorced would be the way...

i would only put a chevy in the truck, i am in the process of building a 454 and am going to put it in the truck. my only worry abought going with the married setup is the linkage for the t case, but a would imagine that its nothing i could'nt handle, i would also like to convert the 205 to a twin stick and the kaiser has that already.

If I remember right, someone who has done that swap said there were holes to bolt the linkage to on the tranny....could always post for the info...

i was just talking to my dad and he has a np 202 and i think i will go with it.

The 200 and 205 are in the same class basically..just that the 205 is a newer version, basically same rating...the 202 is in the same family, but is the big brother, rated like 1 1/2 ton or better....THAT is a stout case and make a very good swap choice...congrats on finding one!!
