Refer to the Data plates on the truck.
I wish I could Roy.
Someone was paint over them :mad::mad:
8800 GVW + 2000 useful load = 10800 lbs Max Gross
Numbers are from the online version of the users guide. See online Maintenance Manual link at the very top of this page
According to the manuals:
CURB WEIGHT, FULLY EQUIPPED, LESS PAYLOAD AND CREW
Front Axle 2,800 lbs.
Rear Axle 3,600 lbs.
Total 6,400 lbs.
PAYLOAD*
Cross Country 2,000 lbs.
Highway 2,000 lbs.
GROSS WEIGHT, FULLY EQUIPPED, PLUS PAYLOAD AND CREW
Front Axle 3,000 lbs.
Rear Axle 5,800 lbs.
Total 8,800 lbs.
*Add 2 man crew and gear, 400 lbs.
so bascally, its 6400 lbs empty and 8800 lbs loaded...which includes 400 pounds for crew and ger and 200p for payoad...or 2400 lbs. total.
Awesome info guys thanks ! :D
The M725 in question was still in the Hellenic Army (decomissioned) but the Greek law says that all vehicles below 2.5tons cannot be sell to indivuals as they must be recycled (!!!!).Sounds unheard of but this is it!
BUT any vehicle over 3.5tons can be sold privately :):):)
Sooo I will start the paperwork really soon (I hope)
a BIG thank you to all for your priceless help
Forgot to mention : this law is not valid for cars who are already road registered!!!
My data plate shows 8400 pounds max weight wether on highway or off road.
If I am not mistaken, the data plate shows 8400 lbs in both configurations and then one adds the 400 lb. allotment for the crew and gear.
The manual does state that the payload is 2000 lbs. for both on and off road, as noted above, which is different than the M715 which has a 2500 lb. off road and 3000 lb. on road rating.
Does your data plate have a blurb at the bottom of the section on weight about the 400 lb. allotment for crew/gear?
