What's the deal with Marsh wheels?
89.95 for 16x8's (in the tubeless non-beadlock "offroad" rim)?? Pretty cheap, how's the quality of them? What's the good and bad?

I got a set about a year and a half ago, I got the 16x10's for $99 each. A couple months after getting them I started the tear down on my truck and it hasnt gone back togther yet, so I didn't drive with them for too long. I have no complaints about them, and I would deffinetly buy them again, well worth the money. It might take me a day or two but if you want I can post some pictures of mine if you want. I have 38x13r16 TSL's on mine and I have a spare still in the box.
Personally I'd like to see a picture of you're tire/wheel set up, with the cost of xl's, tubes and liners, might be a good alternative. Thanks when you can do it.
I've got a set of their 16" beadlocks, they're very good quality. No worries here.
yes, pics pls.

Do you have a website link for Marsh?
Google's broken today. Good thing I have the link saved... whew!
http://www.mrt-wheels.com/
This is as close a shot as I have available. Non beadlock 16 by ? 10 inch maybe?
Note that they are solid center. The truck came with them. I can't find them on the MRT site.

No complaints as of yet. They run true. No shimmies or wiggles up to +/-50 mph. No obvious excessive wheel weights on the rims, so they appear to balance well.
I think they're powdercoated. No blisters yet. They are prolly 1-2 years old, but thats just a SWAG.
twodogs, thats a nice looking truck!
Thanks, Saxon. Yours will look as good, or better. And I can't say I built mine.
I just found some good shots of TOPDOG's truck, in CO. Has solid center MRT's as well.
well, post one then - geez!
Thanks, I checked out their website and it appears their rims are for off-road driving only. To bad, at $89.00 per wheel, it sounded to good to be true. I have emailed them regarding an on-road rim and post their response when I receive one. Thanks again!
not to be an ass, but they say that about a lot of things. There are quite a few guys running these around here, and they don't blow up if you take them on-road.
Phil, in Grand Junction, has a nice set on his truck and they are plenty beefy for the road use that he puts on them. ;)
Tacoma-You bought bead locks from Marsh? What size? What did they run?
I bought used beadlocks off a friend of mine. They were cheap. They are not for M715's.
Here are some pics of the M715 Marsh wheels, on Topdog's truck in Grand Junction:

I wonder if I send them some stock wheel centers if they will make me a set.
Only thing "offroad" (probably)means is they haven't paid the cost(tax?) of DOT approval. On trucks the size of ours DOT isn't going to be stopping anyone to check.
Boy, you folks really know your stuff!!! I will post what I find out from them tomorrow. Thanks again!
the solid center wheels are problimatic with balamce issues. there a set on ebay now and look at the weights used and also the balance rings used. this is why i wont build solid center wheels except for off road use only. my opinion
Bob,
I saw those wheels on Ebay as well and noticed the huge amount of sticky weights on the one wheel! Wheew!! Those rims didnt balance too well...
its just the nature of solid centers i dont know why. and also it takes 1/2" plate to keep the centers from flexing ......
Solid centers that I have seen had the plate, hole pattern and center cut pre-weld. With 1/2" or 3/8" plate, the center is a larger percentage of the weight. If the plate is welded only 1/64" off center it takes a lot of counterbalance weights to adjust.
Man, I love this site.
I looked at the pix Tacoma posted and it was like looking out my office window. It would appear I have another piece of the puzzle.
Topdog's truck is my truck.
For you skeptics, the previous owner (in NC) did a shackle flip and front spring pack replacement (custom). Same tires, same wheels, same home made nerf bars, same tin cab top, same PAINTJOB. Yeah that's mine all right. Check it out:

Yes, I know, the bed paulin is kinda droopy, but the bed paulin hoops were lowered for transit.
So that also means my wheels and tires are more like 2-3 years old, and yes, I run them on the street with no problems.
Huh. So Phil sold his truck eh? That's a bummer.
I got looking at those pics myself LOL I was thinking.. "noooooo way" but YES!
So who did YOU buy it from????? Last time I saw that truck was summer '04, when I took those pics.
I remember seeing that truck on eBay about eight months ago. Don't the rear springs contain blocks rather than shackle flips? I remember the truck because it didn't sit level across the back for whatever reason.
I also remember that the body looked like it was in great shape. I don't remember seeing any dents or rust, and it had that neat headliner in the top.
Markness: No rust. No "factory" taigate dent. Slight ding in the hood. Barely noticeable. The rear is flipped with about a 2" block. The sag is in the L/rear spring, from what I can determine. It's on the list....
Taco: I got it from a guy named Chris in Durham. He was on this site back in the day... "Molarmaker" I think. Did Phil get this truck out of Oregon, per chance? The key fob would indicate that.
What I'm trying to figure is how it got from Phil to Chris. I saw him in summer 04, so the timeline is tight. Phil was a Navy guy if I remember that right, and was all over the place, so key fobs come and key fobs go LOL .
hahah no, surely not! It's a nice truck. ;)
