Window Frame Photos?

My truck did not come with a top. Does anyone have extra hoops/frames?

Pretty expensive to buy. Thinking I could make some.

Can someone send me a profile photo of the window frame, where the window meets the roof hoop frame...3 in the schematic below is the whole part, I really just need to see the part the window comes in contact with.

I suspect it is just angle, with a rubber seal, but I have never seen one in person, so a photo would really help me out.

Here are a few from the inside.

My canvas is shrunk too tight right now to unsnap to get a better picture of the outside of frame.

But anyhow, there is a sheet metal angle welded to small rectangular steel tubing that makes up the frame around the window.

It is exactly the right size to knock the sh$%@#%^ out of your head if you don't duck enough, lol! I may have one to measure for you this weekend when I get out into the garage.

Thanks for the pictures. Very helpful. Can you roll down the window, and take one from the outside so that I can see how the window seal works?

Here is the idea. Alfa's dump M715 has a custom top, and it looks like he used the same windshield glass dimension for the rear window of his hard top. I really like that design/visibility, so I am trying to figure out how to fab a top like his, but given I don't have frames to work with, I have to figure it out. Looks like 1" square tube is the frame the angle is attached to?

Using a ruler, the tubing looks to be 3/4"x 1 1/4" rectangle.

There was someone recently talking about using an actual front windshield frame for the back of the cab. While I like the one in the (Alfa's dump) link, it looks a little funny with the rear glass bigger than the front, IMHO.

Cab hoops sizes

Just looking at the soft cab hoop sticks, are they both the same dimensions or is one slightly taller than the other?

The diagram that this thread links shows dimensions for one, so am I right in assuming both hoops are the same as there is no reference as to whether it is middle or rear hoop.

The hoops on mine I think are home made and too tall, which would account for the fact the canvas doesn’t fit correctly, or it has shrunk horrendously.

I sometimes get the same message and get double posts, lol.

They're the same size. I quickly searched and didn't find an actual measurement, but the search of "soft top bar" resulted in 20 pages. I can measure the bows I have in my garage this weekend if you need it.

Another question related to this the length of the stubs on the door frame that hoops sit on. Mine are around 4.5inches, but have read they are less than inch.

My hoops have to be in another hidyhole in my garage, I didn’t see them. The stubs on my window frames are super close to 4” on the closest to the front window and 4 3/8” on the furthest from the front window. Sorry about the soft top bows. I can look again if someone doesn’t post up. My truck has a fire department hard top and I can’t guarantee they didn’t cut up those hoops on the inside. I took those measurements from my soft top set I have.

Thank you for checking. Good to onow the stubs are the same. Let’s see if anyone comes up with som measurements.

I measured mine in situ by using paracord pulled tight across the bottom the hoop legs and measured the height with a tape measure from top edge and middle of the bow to the paracord. Both hoops were way to high according to the measurements shown on the link elsewhere. The legs were too long and the angle of the legs are slightly out. Apparently the should be 13 degrees from vertical, mine measure 10 degrees. So if they were 13 the hoops would be too wide.

From this I think that hoops I have are not original and have been made by eye rather than having measurements to go off. It would still be good to have a second set of measurements just to confirm those that we already have.
