I just got my truck home about two hours ago. I cleaned out all of the leaves and debris. I hosed out the interior and bed. It's raining out so I'll start messing with it tomorrow. I'll post pictures in a about 30min. Got to go take them first:D

I know it isn't much progress, but I replaced the master cylinder. Honestly it was tough. Someone had swapped in power brakes, but I didn't know what from. Numbers on the master cylinder and booster were non-existent. I took measurements, but I couldn't find any listings of specs on stock cylinders. The truck has a column from a late 70's, early 80's Ford Van and the 351c/C4 from a '71 Mustang. I found out that a '71-'73 Mustang master cylinder fits. I installed it. I later found narrowed down the origins of the brake setup, '75-'76 Ford E250.
Here is a video of me driving it into my driveway from the sideyard. Atleast the front brakes work. I have to look into why the rear are not applying. Might be frozen cylinders.

That is better than when I drug mine home. It was about a year later that I actually drove it. :D
Pull all four wheels and have a look at the wheel cylinders. I am sure that several of them are locked up. May as well do the rubber hoses too, and while you're under there, new steel lines wouldn't be a bad idea as well.
The guy I bought it from put all new steel lines on just before the winter, rubber lines look original. front brakes are working and good, I think he messed with these already. Still have yet to pull the rear. I think the cylinders are frozen.
Ah another CT m715. Good to see some more old iron kicking around. Looks good. You should stop by sometime and motivate my build.

Sweet!
Man the bed looks good on that one. You got lucky!
I can see by the background pics I'm not the only Jeep nut.
Man I miss my Rubicon.
Good luck with your project.
Yes more M715s in Ct I love it. We'll have to plan something :p
:Hijack on:
If you fellas find a brush guard in ct or close let me know. Thanks.
:Hijack off:

I ordered two wheel cylinders, parts for a tuneup, 12v sending unit/gauge, EZ Wiring harness, ignition switch, headlight switch, and dimmer switch. I have yet to get new electric wiper motors, material for a front bumper, courtesy light setup, seat brackets, gauges that match the fuel gauge. Oh ya, tires too
My wiring harness showed up yesterday. It is very nice. It came as a package with the headlight, dimmer, wiper, and ignition switches
you may want to look into using CJ7 wiper parts like I did for the wiper system. all you need to do is bolt the wiper motor and everything in upside down. (drill two holes through the windshield that are covered anyway by the soft top) I have that setup in my truck and it works great. I did a write up a while back.
I like the idea of the universal individual wipers. They cost less to get than a CJ7 wiper assembly. People around here are asking over $100 for a complete used setup
You won't like them after a couple of uses when the motors fry. I've gone through two sets now in as many years, and I am ready to do the CJ wipers myself. The Taiwanese motors are junk, plain and simple, and are the only thing out there. The stainless boat wiper motors that cost an arm and a leg aren't much better either and for two are much more expensive at around $120 a piece. You'll be money and frustration ahead by buying the CJ setup at that price, and you won't end up with no wipers on a rainy evening.
That's dissapointing to hear, but glad to hear ahead of time. thank you
you'd be suprised how well a bottle of cheap glass cleaner and a little RainX will do if you treat your glass around once a month... total outlay of $5 or so.
Ran aircooled VW's for years w/faulty wipers that way.
does that work with the vertical windshield? I really like the dual stainless wipers, but I guess I will look for a CJ setup. drats
I am reconstructing the rusty Gladiator heater box that came with my truck. The heater core is shot, but the blower motor works. I made some templates for the patches on the box. cutting them out after i eat some lunch. I have also decided to go with the CJ wiper arms, thanks for the advice Pheonix and Randy.
Looking good!
And you like Oldsmobiles too! (looking at your burnout videos now) I have a '70 442 and a '66 Toronado. I'll have to swing by one of these days and have a look :happy10:
Man, I feel for you east coast guys, the rust makes it miserable. We get it here because of the constant moisture and winter chemicles a little bit, but nothing compared. Keep the faith, power on!
My M715 isn't rusty, just the heater box from the Gladiator. It was with a bunch of spare parts. I ordered a new heater core yesterday.
I haven't touched the heater box since the other week. I did replumb the brake system. I had an issue with the rear brakes not applying. I first found some bad wheel cylinders a few months ago and replaced them, but the rear brakes still didn't do much. The truck has a Ford van power brake assembly and had the van dist block. To the rear the line went 3/16 to 1/4 to 3/16 to 1/4. When I saw that I realized why I had no pressure to the rear. I got a 3/16 tee fitting to plumb the front and ran a new 1/4" line to the rear. bled and tested the brakes and they are amazing now. I then brought the truck into the garage and removed the carb and rebuilt it. Time to eat dinner.
You can't be married with all those jeeps!!!!
I go through girlfriends every few months. Longest lasting relationship was 6mo. But the cars and Jeeps stick around
I ordered a set of defroster ducts for my truck to go with my heater box
I received my defroster ducts today, they were still in the military wrap.
I ordered a new CJ7 wiper assembly, motor, CJ2 tail lights from Quadratec. I received everything except for the motor, which is backordered. I also ordered new gauges, floor shifter, and indicators from Summit. The Summit order should arrive tomorrow. Not sure how long it will take for me to receive the wiper motor.
I installed the replacement pass side rocker brace and tacked in place the new rocker panel. Then aligned the door. I'll get pics up for all the parts and the little bit of work I've done lol
Keep going...getting a lot done!

Nice parts, where did you source the CJ7 wiper conversion parts from?
And where did you get the Surplus Rockers inner and outer??
The wiper parts are from Quadratec, and the rocker parts came with the truck. There is also a patch for the tail gate. The guy I bought the truck from said the parts cost him a fortune and he thinks they might have been the last in the country. After reading some posts about rockers, I am starting to believe him lol
I got the nose off of my truck so I can finish the front part of the rocker panel and fix some other small rust spots. I am quite pleased with the condition of my truck. After my '57 Willys I was not in the mood for another reconstruction lol. I also removed all of what was left of wiring in my truck.
I just got back from Orlando last night, my neighbor just won Heavy Street at Orlando Speed World. I made some progress on my M715. Only bodywork for today.

Nice patch work. I might be looking at doing that whole area here soon also. Build is coming along nice man. Looking forward to seeing the final product.
Repaired the passenger side cowl drain. Found a huge mouse nest in it. Answered why it rusted
