U-joint question

Since I'm replacing the t-case this weekend, decided I'd go ahead and replace the driveshaft u-joints as well. Does anyone know offhand what model/manufacturer will fit the driveshaft u-joints? I'm sweaty and really oily or I'd do a more in-depth search. Thanks.

precision 369 joints - napa has them.

Thanks, guys. Will pick up 6 new ones tomorrow AM for install. Anybody got an idea on an easier way to get the u-joint off of the back of the transmission and reinstalled?

no really easy way - you can loosen the bolts on the xfer case and slide it back a tad, then have to spin the shaft to get to the bolts.
kinda sucks actually.

a.b. linn has those joints for 10.00 each. dont drop the t-case on your head. its a man killer.

Well, the t-case is out, so I have some room to work with. I figured it'd be a PITA, haha. I was thinking about buying a transmission jack for this project and a few others I have cooking, but haven't done it yet. I'll let y'all know tomorrow how irritated I get with it, might be buying that jack after all.

Are those joints the same ones used on FSJ's? The FSJ ones seem to be the ones in my truck, which was modified by Alan. Do I have different pinions or are the stock military pinions the same size? TIA

Ethan, I'd guess your pinions are stock. It's a fairly common u-joint. 1/2 ton+ chevys and such use it too.

VERY helpful to have one - I bought the little roll-around one from harbor freight.

Whatever you do, don't get the add-on tranny jack adapter. It doesn't work well and won't let the t-case/tranny slide under the frame rails without getting the truck sky-high on jack stands.
Doug, thanks for the input. It's nice only having to stock one size u joint in the garage! <g>
