I have never had any experience with them on a vehicle, but I did ride a Honda ATV with a set of Matttracks about 4 or 5 years ago. It literally would go anywhere, but slowly. Those tracks didn't like any speed at all on dry terrain. The ATV felt very "jerky" and abrupt at anything over a slow crawl. This was on a mixture of gravel, dirt, and woods terrain. Maybe in snow they may be better though, or mud.

ha who thought it would be so hard to find a 2 1/2" socket for the axle bearing nut........ggrrrrrrrrrrrr
-
have you checked sears or a generic auto parts store like VIP? there are quite a few available online, around $20-$30 which is a lot for a single socket! I know sears has them, but expensive. I remember seeing somewhere (not sure if it was on here or not) but a guy took some pieces of flat stock, welded them together in a hexagon to make the socket and then welded a straight bar along the face to turn it. May not be the easiest but i thought it was pretty clever and certainly cheap... also, when you get into sizes that big, if it's a few sizes too big, it will still work ok but isn't great. Seems like 2 5/8 is a more common size for lock nuts?
