OMG this a a very very nice build M715 congrats :D:D:D
thanks .... and still not finished !! Been working hard the past two weeks !! I will updated the pics next week end
Hey buddy i am planning a j10 build was wondering what kind of motor mounts you used and what kind of mods did you have to do under the hood on the body??? Thanks alot
stock first gen cummins engine mount ..... and no mod at all under the hood for the body .... but you need to run electric fans .... If you want to keep the stock mechanical fan ... cut into the rad support and move the rad up front a good 2" .... and everything will clear
I just went to my US adress this morning and i received two defrost vent from VPW and my twin stick and handbrake boot .... Since i remove my injection pump ... i will be able to bring my power back because i can lower the idle now the screw is no longer jammed. More pics to come by this weekend

no pictures but here's some updates ---)
I have heat ... lot of heat ... maybe even too much !!
Working defroster
Received an HID lighting kit for my birthday ... 55 watts low and high H4
Freshly installed non oem wood sides ... just need to be painted tomorrow
New project ..... 4" snorkel !!
Forgot to tell the the truck is now back on the road .... I tried the rear locker doing a nice 360 in front of the driveway !! That truck is sick ... i never taught it could be doing a 360 so easilly !! Next summer it will receive new injectors ( 80 hp ) and i hesite between tranny upgrade ( shift kit ) or manual swap !!
What other mods have you done to the motor besides the 3200 governor spring, fuel pin, and turning the fuel screw?
Nothing more then that .... the gov spring is not even installed because i doesn't need it ... running 70mph with that truck is more then enough. Next summer will add 80 hp injectors and finished my intercooler setup. Since here we are having 30 and down degree i dont need the rush to instal the new setup that will consist of a new bigger radiator and air intercooler instead of the water setup i was supposed to install.
whos fuel pin did you use?
Dynomite if my memory is good !!
Will take picture tomorrow morning because up here it's almost sleeping time !! But the wood sides are finished and really look good ... and have a working twin stick !! Very weird running on FWD with a locker .....
I was not able not to show it because it make the truck look so nice .... better pic i get take at night ... tomorrow for more !!
http://www.rockcrawlerquebec.com/kam...5woodsides.JPG
I definately like it better with the sides on it...makes it look more massive
Quick update of this morning ..... with better light
http://www.rockcrawlerquebec.com/kam...december09.JPG
And the multi arms setup .... still unfinished
http://www.rockcrawlerquebec.com/kam...cember09-1.JPG
a quick shot ..... this is only after 6 hours of the first snow storm !! We should received between 12" and 15" by tomorrow morning .... and will not melted !!

That's one of the coolest pics I've seen in a while.
And just taking another to show the HID at night !! This is on LOW beam .... 55 watts 6000K

Thanks man i was planning on running twin electric fans my truck already has a 6 inch hell creek suspesion and 3 inch body i was gonna swap all the running gear out of my donor dodge . WHat kind of radiator and intercooler did you wind up using. just trying to get all my ducks in arow so once i start i can knock this swap out fairly easy, Thanks again:D
radiator are cj style replacement aluminium but with my big tranny cooler in front i'm not sure if the heat transfer from the cooler to the radiator or the radiator is too smal when the cummins is pulling heavy weight ( uphill with a loaded trailer ---) 8000 pounds ) and the intercooler is not finished but i will be using water cooled intercooler ( smaller and more efficent ) .... but only this summer i will be able to confirm that !!
NO generic ebay water cooled intercooler .. around $50 but you need another radiator an a coolant pump ( bosh only )
next project ---) I need a doubler !! 2:1 low is really not enought !!! Already start to find all the parts !!
I was wondering, is your front rockwell narrowed?
no stock from a Deuce ( US version ) but the rear hubs had been flipped to get the same width as the front.
I was thinking about that since the past three weeks ---) Yes i need a doubler .... but definitively i need also a new tranny !! So i'm looking for a NV4500 or NV5600. I just missed a luck last month ... complete '94 dodge ram cummins with manual tranny ( smashed on the right side ) body was totally destroyed since the truck made several roll over but the powertrain was perfect and the price was good ( $1500 ) So i'm waiting for another luck like that !!
But for 2010 the truck will get a new stick shift tranny and doubler !!
- Custom snorkel
- Front and rear axle wrap
- OBA
- Roll cage
Time for some updates ..... i know what you are thinking ..... YES 4" snorkel for the cummins. I will need to mod the canister to fit the opening but it will very easy to do !!
http://www.rockcrawlerquebec.com/kam...norkelm715.JPG
The OBA is almost finished with a ½hp electric DC motor .... and upgrading the suspension. I will removed half of the leafs pack and replace them with air bags with integrated bumpstops. 2 anti axle wrap will also be needed when doing that. This will increase the flex offraod but will give around 800% more confort on the road.
Also i may have the luck i was waiting for ..... complete ram truck with a 6bt and the NV4500. So i may have the new pump style and the manual tranny. I'm looking also for a better crawl ratio ... that truck is a way too heavy for normal gear, so i need to go creepy and install a black box from NWF that will gave me another 2.72 of tcase for a total of 200:1.
So i may offer you my current powertrain ( exept the tcase ) consisting of the 6bta with the A518 with Lokar shifter and kickdown , tranny cooler with all the Aeroquip fitting ... complete and bolted together .... you may just need a dodge np205 to complete the assembly because i need to keep mine and swap it at the place of the 241 which is on the wrong side. if anyone interested i can make you a very good price and you can be sure it's working fine !!!
And if anyone is interested, I have a Dodge NP205 that would work...
I envy you and your truck...I can only dream of such a well built and great performing rig in my posession...ENJOY IT!!
thanks .... and with more confort this truck will be ready for any long trip ....
New job starting monday, lots of parts sold, and too much spare time !! sound good for the m715 !!
Update ...
Have the electric compressor in stock .. 2.0 cfm ½hp 12 vdc 100% duty cycle at 135 psi
http://www.rockcrawlerquebec.com/kam...compressor.JPG
Also found 44" tire for the truck .... they are 12.00r20 XML from a 8 wheels LAV.
They are not in top shape condition but it seems te be rare to find that size. I would better find a nearly perfect tires .... so maybe someone on this board can have access to at least 6 of thems ...
http://www.rockcrawlerquebec.com/kam...1200r20xml.JPG
And this is the airbags going on the truck ... ( they were on my XJ but only mounted for testing )
http://www.rockcrawlerquebec.com/php...rs/airbags.JPG
And the specs of those bags
http://www.truckspring.com/images/Ma...ne_hd/5429.gif
i really dont know ...... the only thing i can tell you that it industrial painting but i dont know what brand or color number :(
i change my mind about those 12.00r20 tires for bigger ones ....... this morning i try a set of 14.00r20 XL tires and they fit like they belong there . I will have to get enlarged fenders to be 100% road legal .... maybe a set of plastic extension from big truck ( i need around 1½" of extra coverage ).
I will try to transfer my phone pictures to the computer and share what it will looked like.
Just a thought, but for just a couple more inches you could go with rubber mat stuff with the woven center. I have the same stuff along the top of my snow plow blade to turn the snow back down. Tough, durable, flexible - good stuff. If you need to go farther out I wouldn't trust it, but if you could get a roll 8" wide & just stick 2" out then you would be good - probably last much better than a plastic or fiberglass up in the great white north with your bajillion below zero temperatures. :D
thanks for the idea
Somebody makes rubber stuff especially for extending fender flares to cover tires...rowdy and duarable stuff...buddy of mine used it on a 1946 Powerwagon and it worked real nice...2 to 3 inches of width...
were did you get the hid lights from they look nice and i would like to get some for my truck
thanks
