I got the inner fenders and radiator support on today. I also ran some wires for the tranny switch, reverse lights, future cooling fan and tranny cooler fan.

That cummins beige sure looks sweet!
Updates! It´s been a week already ;)
I've been getting the rest of the wiring finished. Nothing too interesting :-(
And today I will be working on my '89 W250 Cummins to get it on the road before snow fall.
Very cool. When do you think it will hit the road??
The W250 hit the road last night :-) and the M715 will hit the road in spring.
Wow truck looks awesome. I was wondering I will be in the area next week. Would it be ok to stop in and have a look at the truck. I'm making a trip to PA for some troop seats and paint.
Sure. What day? I work 9-5 week days
Ordering a custom radiator from Griffin. I was going to try to retain my stock radiator, but I was running into complications in making adapters for the size difference in tubing for hoses. 1.5" vs 1.75" and 2.25"
Which Radiator did you buy? My stock rad is on its way out and im looking into options to replace it. I eventually want to convert to a Cummins and want to make sure I buy a radiator that will cool it. Beautiful truck by the way!!!!
Yeah if I blow a radiator hose i am bummin'. I had to make a 90 with exhaust tubing adapters that make that big jump on the lower hose. I would like to know how much that radiator is and how it cools when its hot or under a load.
The 2.25" inlet is the tough part. When you don't have a/c, the tensioner is there :-( And it is tight. If possible, I would cut the radiator support and fit a wider radiator, but mine is already painted. I am having them make an angled inlet that is 2.25". I hope it clears. I'll let you know a price once I get billed :-(

Mikel would be proud of me lol. I took his advice on my radiator support.

Todd and Dave stopped by today to check out my truck. Todd is also becoming more interested in a Cummins swap.
I should have my summit radiator soon and then the fun begins... Today I installed the new u-joints in the rear driveshaft and installed it. Just so everyone knows not all of the u-joints on an M715 are 1310, the rear axle u-joint is a 1330. I had to get a conversion joint to go from the Dodge 7260 to Spicer 1330. I also installed the exhaust hanger. I have decided to move the battery to the driver side and I will notch the inner fender to do so. I also ordered an air filter for my motor.
Thanks to Mikel and Bob today for welding on mounting tabs to my new radiator. Bob also gave me a brief lesson on TIG welding. I had never TIG welded before and he was able to teach me how to lay down a half way decent weld. No where near what Bob and Mikel had demonstrated they could do.

I relocated the battery to the driver inner fender. I had to make a pocket. The radiator support and inner fender are off to paint.

Looks good, I like the battery notched into the fender...might have to copy that idea
Are you going to run 1 or 2 batteries? 2nd battery on the passenger side fender?
Man I really like that inner fender battery tray idea. I might have to do that as well. The only thing is I'm worried that your tire might rub on the tray when your flexing offroad. Did you take that into account? Its hard to tell from the pictures how far it sticks down but it looks awesome either way. Nice fab work dude!

nice works man, dig the fender battery holder
I am only running one battery. I made the notch wide in case I decide down the road to upgrade from the group 34 battery to a group 31. I welded the actual tray to the fender instead of making bolt mounts. After I widened the radiator support, the battery wouldn't fit where I had it. This also is nice because I don't have to run a long battery cable either.
A single group 31 battery will fit behind each seat in the cab too. You won't be able to stow the top frame and bows any more though.
Looks good.
Wondering if you used the stock steering column and where did you get the " borgeson " joints at ? I would like to find some of these at a decent price.
It is a late 70's Ford E250 steering column. The joints and shaft are flaming river.
Sweeeeeeeeeeet. I really like the paint job.

Shiny :D
all looks good, but have you considered a 180* mandrel bent pipe to replace that rad hose. Jegs ect. sells them.
I had a pin hole in my radiator. That is now fixed and reinstalled. I finished the under hood wiring and front lights. I mounted the brushguard. Saturday I will finish the bumper I started last summer. Truck should be on the road within a month.
Putting in a heater?
I had one when i had the gas motor. I will eventually put a universal jeep one under the dash. I still have the defroster ducts in place and the fan switch wired.
Sounds good. I was wondering pretty sure it gets cold up there where u r. Lol
Looks nice. Lots of good work.
I finished welding my front bumper, painted it and mounted it today. I accidentally dropped it and put two holes in my concrete floor. It is 3/16 wall 2x4 with a 2x2 weld atop it to make a 2x6" bumper. I used 1/4x3" strap to make the mounts. It is heavy

Looking good!
I have to fix the tranny. It is stuck in one gear (valvebody issue) and my front driveshaft put a hole in the tranny pan :-(
