Pretty good. I still need to tie it farther up the frame and paint it, but it worked great pulling my sons mustang home.
I got side tracked with painting the bed. I was hoping to have time to do the whole truck before the homecoming parade this Sunday afternoon, but just got back in town yesterday afternoon from a business trip, so not likely...
I had about 45 minutes during lunch time on Weds, so I stripped the paint off of a jerry can, put Ospho on it, and shot it with red oxide that evening

I just got mine licensed last thursday and took a ride in it. A years wor4th of work and man it was fun. What a beast.
I havent really touched the truck since hunting season in October, but have decided to delete the solid mounted drivetrain. I have been getting parts, but it has been too cold in the garage...
Come on spring
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...psfdf3aa78.jpg
I agree about the cold this year. I didn't cut and stack much wood last summer so I don't have cheap heat in the garage this winter. Add on top of that that it has been so much colder than last year and I'm not getting much done.
I have a horrible knock in my 6.2 that came on suddenly this fall. I found a used Jasper reman to replace it but can't find the motivation to swap it in. I put an ad on Craigslist to see if someone would swap it out for me. I had a few responses. One shop about an hour from my home offered to do it fairly reasonable so I'm trying to get that lined up this weekend.
I hear you with the motivation. It needs to be at least 35* or I just don't want to get out there

Well the 6.2 is sold. My son bought the cummins donor that I was looking at, for his winter driver, so Im still looking for a decent engine locally.
I'll be posting up some engine swap stuff in classifieds soon

I swapped out the leaking manual gear today for the power gear

What pitman arm are you using?
George, did you have to do anything to the frame to get that to fit?
Do you have a new drive-train lined up yet?
Merry Christmas! I used a Lares 1106 box and a wagoneer arm from BJ's offroad.
Both were a direct bolt in. I just need to find a hose for for the hydroboost to go from 16x1.5 to 11/16 inverted flare.
Paul, I have everything out, and the whole engine compartment painted with rapco 24087. My sons transmission went out on his pickup, so I had to loan him $900 from the hobby fund. As soon as we are square, Ill be picking up a cummins of some sort. I have a line on 2 VE pumped engines with under 150,000 miles on each of them.
I am also thinking about a 4bt, but I was talking to Tim about that, and he said that they vibrate a lot more. Plus adapting an OD trans can be more expensive
I picked up this 6bt today. I can't wait for some warmer weather to get working

Nice. What did the engine come out of? Older Dodge or something else?
Its an 89 non-i/c. The body rusted out and the guy pulled the engine for a conversion that never happened.
It has the external alternator voltage regulator and 3rd gen alt, and a magnetic crank trigger for an IssPro tach, other than that, its stock. New starter too
Is doesn't have the blowby tube, and there is just a slight haze of oil on the starter. The guy said that was 40k of driving. So it looks to have little blowby
I really havent done much. I did take the front clip off, sand blast the inside. chemically strip the outside, prime and paint.
Degreased and painted the engine:

Have a new water pump, will put on a new lift pump, front and rear seals
Thanks Paul. This is the only pic I have of the progress, but I'll snap a few after it stops raining

I am painting it back to stock color with rapco paint
Picked up the nv4500 from Fastenal http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...ps75ubjnic.jpg

Its been a long time since I have worked on the truck. Between the shoulder surgery at the beginning of the year, to work and personal travel, I have pretty much done nothing...
I cleaned the garage today and kind of started lining everything up. Now to decided upon trans and xfer case mounts.
But first up, a new short shaft since the NV4500 is a 14xx series ujoint. I want to do 1350's on everything

u-joints, yoke and tube should be here tomorrow for the new 1410 short shaft.
I have the new 1410 yoke for the TC already.
Happy fathers day to me: I got the mounts welded in and the engine sitting in the bay

Glad your healing up. Progress looks great. Makes me almost want to back out of the sell of mine. Almost. Then again I do know where another one is sitting in great shape about an hour from me.
Its good to have options
New 1410 shortshaft goodies, and 1350 ujoints for the rear

Hello George
That is looking great. I'm looking forward to what ever pics you want to post of the NP202 TC mounts you are getting set to fabricate and install. I'm preparing for a NP202 swap as well and I'm interested in seeing how others on here mount the 202 case.
Cheers,
Bryce.
Looking good!
Thanks Guys. I'll post up Bryce, as soon as I get that far
Do you have any pictures of the power steering gear box and where it's mounted? It looks like in the picture, you have it mounted directly on the frame. Mine is on a bracket that sits below the frame, which is nice because it makes the drag link more parallel with the tie rod, but the bracket is a weak point.
Thanks!
Do you have the motor installed currently? I'm running the same pitman arm that you have (wagoner from BJ's), but there's not much clearance between the drag link and the oil pan. I need to get the axle reinstalled to really see what I have to work with.
Yea, I've got 1000 lbs worth of motor sitting in it now:

Awesome! Thanks for the info, that's very helpful for me. And that 6bt looks great sitting in there!
Thanks!
TC mount made, just need to drill holes for bolt/cushion connection

Nice. It's good to make progress.
Hi there George. That 202 mount looks great! Do you have any more pics of the rear facing side of the mount or the rubber mounted sections? My NP202 is all sealed and clean and ready to redeployment after I figure out the mounts
Thanks,
Bryce
Hey I'm going to be doing a hydraulic clutch swap soon when I get my 454 in, all the pics associated with the clutch swap are gone. Could you reupload them? Or I can PM you my email.
