I am half way through converting my Cummins 2WD 727 to 4WD. I am going to paint the tranny the same color as the truck and the NP205 is getting painted Cummins Beige. I also returned my D70 23 spline locker to Summit since I got the D70U from Mikel. I will widen my front Dodge D60F 5" to make it match the rear axle width.
Nice grinding job on the intake. I still have to do mine.
I ordered a Lokar kickdown cable, -8 fittings for the tranny case, and a tranny cooler with own fan with -8 fittings, from Summit today. Motor and trans will be going in in the beginning of December. I will use the stock axles for the time being until the new axles are ready. I will also have a new canvas top made in the spring to fit my altered bows. I will post pics of my Diesel conversion as it happens.
I got my Cummins 727 rebuilt and painted. I also got in my remote tranny cooler, Lokar kickdown cable, and the -8 AN fittings for the side of the tranny.

Looks like your moving right along. Does the cooler mount underneath the truck, or is there another plan?
I am going to mount the cooler under the bed. I will run braided line between the two. I am hoping it will keep the tranny cool.
Looks like it ought to do the job. Does your radiator have a transmission cooler built in also?

Old motor is out. Not bad considering I had to move 4 diesel engines, two trannies and 4 dana 70 axles out of my way this morning before bringing in the truck.

I got the driveshafts and transfercase removed from the truck. I also picked up some 4x4" 1/4" wall tubing to make motor mounts with.
Truck is looking really good...excellent fab work:cool:
I may have missed it in your build but are you planning on running an intercooler and if so what kind of intercooler?

6BT/727/NP205. Both of the Dana's have 4.10 gear. The 4.10's and 38's should be very similar to the stock 3.07 gear with 31's that the Cummins truck had.
I had to modify the throttle bracket to work with my Ford throttle cable and the Lokar kickdown cable.

I didn't get as far as I had hoped today. I finished the tranny kickdown and got the motor mocked in place. The stock dipstick tube won't work with the truck so I ordered a flexible one. Tomorrow I will start fabricating the motor mounts. The Dude came by and picked up my old NP200. I'm glad it is going to get used instead of ending up at a scrap yard.

Suspension actually flexes a bit with the weight of the Cummins lol. The yoke gets within 1/4" of the pan at full flex. As long as I bounce straight up and down I should be fine lol
Note: The front spring bushings are worn. New bushings and they might now flex as much.

Thanks Mikel. I got the front driveshaft installed, CB antenna mounted, and the fuel system hooked up. I was only in the garage for about 3hrs today, sat around all morning.
And this is why I keep telling my other half I need a garage for :)
Today I installed my new dipstick, hooked up the throttle cable, reinstalled the firewall plates, hooked up my mechanical temp gauge and installed the fitting for the oil gauge. Still have to get a new brass tube for the gauge.

remote tranny cooler is installed, tranny is full-ish, and both shifters are hooked up. I will be firing up the engine in the truck tonight. I gotta charge the battery. Front sheetmetal is still not on though.

Do you still have the stock H1C turbo?
We put a WH1C in Rob´s truck and it made the engine MUCH more responsive (12 vs 20 cm exhaust turbine). Well worth the $150.
The turbo is still stock. The WH1C is from '94 truck right?
I spent a lot of time trying to decide how to route the exhaust. I originally wanted to run it above the transfercase and out the back, but ended up running it out the inner fender and behind the rocker panel.
