Looks pretty dang O.E. to me, couldn't tell they were fabricated.

Will try this weekend an addition of vaccum booster from a 95 ZJ .... double diaphragms so will not be as powerfull then the hydroboost but simpler installation ..
Sorry for the pictures .... i will not be able to takes others because the camera went to the repair shop .......... just not a good timing :(
Got my wife and I the first real ride on the pavement ..... i've been waiting this moment since january. It was so cool ...... but so loud also ... i knew they were noisy but at 45 my wife and I were looking each other and trying to speak .... we were laughing instead because we can't hear each other. The truck really drive like a rocket ... strong and without boncing everywhere even in really bad shape road. The addition of power steering and power brake will greatly help this truck havin a more civilized attitude. Even on my first ride this truck had already been taken in pictures .... and womens seems to love it. I took a ride around my children school .... you must have seen their faces .... WOW ... this truck made their day !!! I also add new hood and tailgate numbers ... look awesome now ... and a new modify exhaust ..... to goes out just on the right side between the frame and box tools under the bed ...... sound great !!! I'm still wainting for my camera to get back from repair ..... will show you pics as soon as i get it.
Looking forward to seeing them!
Yes, these trucks really do get attention, don't they?!
Just tell your wives it's going to cost $50,000.00 and take ten years to complete your projects. Then when it costs less and you finish it sooner, everything is good. Or you can do what I did and just tell everyone I don't know, because I didn't
i am with fisherman, i toss all of my receits in the round file and only keep paperwork to use for waranty or returns. that way i won't have any idea how much i spent on the thing. i am pretty proud so far though, for what i can remember i have less than 5k in it and it has a pretty decent spread of parts in it or waiting for it.
i just tell Lauren that i could be wasting money at the bar every night instead, but she doesn't see the logic
Ryan
I haven't used the "could have blown all that money going to the bar" line with Jennifer. I'll try it. Can't hurt. Probably.
I HAVE told her that at least I'm right out in the garage where she knows where I am, who I'm with and what I'm doing when I could be out at the bar.
That doesn't work either, BTW....
Tim, just go hang out at the bar for a week or two. Then try that line. It will probably work better when you have come home with alcohol and cigarettes on your breath. There is a method to my madness.
...and lipstick on my shirt collar?
:whip:
Oops.... It just dawned on me, this is a tech forum. And one I'm supposed to be moderating, no less.... Best get back to the topic.
Looking forward to those pics of your first ride with your wife, Kamikaze! If you need any help getting them posted, please let me know!

That is one meaty truck! Great job!
Sure that thing's legal in Canada?! ;)
Yes it will be legal ... since it's a US military truck they don't have any tech specs on this truck .... so they don't have much more to look and they don't even know that this truck is not coming from factory with rockwell and combat rims on 42" .. It's why il will be so easy
Good job, man!
Thanks for the good comments !!!! After all those ruffs working days under the 715 ... it's finally went to life !!!
It looks great but it needs something.....hmmmm....what is it......
DING!
A howitzer!!!
:)
Sweet ride...when are you coming this way?????
Stock truck would work with a quad...this one needs to go BIG!!
:)
Something along the lines of the gun trucks in Vietnam would be cool.
Some big updates ......
I was never satisfed with my current brake setup .... so here's the deal .... Hydroboost with a 2001 3500 HD master .... 1 9/16 of bore. Talk about brutal stopping power. But need to fabricated a spacer between my old hydroboost and the master but work perfectly. Always a problem .... cannot put back my air filter , so i will fabricate a new cold air intake with the filter in the right fender . Also the steering box was installed ... now it's easier to turn those big tires then a brand new car !!

Good deal on the brakes! Its nice to know you can stop fast if need be. Are you using the rockwell drums or pinion brakes?
still using the original drums at each wheel.
Good deal. I wonder if I could use that master cyl in place of a deuce master. Alot of guys are looking for a split system and those are rare. I may try to add a second air pack, so I could have a split system on the deuce. Do you know what the part # is for that master cyl?
Chevy master?
came from a 2001 3500 HD ... but have to fabricate a spacer between the master and hydroboost since it's was having a small gap.
Man, I used to have one of those sitting around too. I'll look and see.
I know what your are talking about ..... but it will take and hour to fabricate the air cleaner intake .... and the stock powertrain will retired this spring for my 6BTA ... so it's not very important for my trying to find this rare piece. But thanks for the idea. :p
If i can have a great deal ... for sure i will installed it .... but since it may be just too much .... i will surely be going on the budget mod ..
Yeah, if you're swapping out the 230, I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it.
This is really maybe out of this tread but here's my little M715 that someone of this board gave me ... I'm very proud of it .... Judd, Thanks a lot !!! Now i have 3 military trucks ... one big M715 and a smaller one , and my german crawler 404. BTW ... next spring i will be building a new trailer for my 404 ... Did i really need to tell what color the trailer will be painted ?? :D

Got friday my appointement for my inspection ..... 100% passed !!! The truck is now legal in Quebec !! Just have to wait in July, consider going to the all breeds Jeep show in York PA in July 2009. I will also bring a friend with a 65 Gladiator , running on 37" toyo tires and maybe a some more ........
Don't forget Haspin June 10th-14th! It'll be SS 10th anniversary.

Here's a pic taken 5 minutes ago ..... the truck is now completed ... with working hydro winch, power steering , power brake , and a bus hot water heater. Now that's what it look like just after driving it in the snow ....
The madness will continue only this spring 2009 when uprading the stock 230 for a complete 6bta ram powertrain.
Merry Christmas ............ :happy10:

I have to ask, how does that thing do with only the stock 230 in it? I know you plan on eventually putting the 6BTA in it, I'm just curious how it drives like it is, lol.
just missing a lot of torque to move the truck around ..... up to 30mph it's OK but as you go faster you are missing power .... i can barely get 55 mph and dropped to 45 when going uphill on highway with the pedal on the floor. I never try it with the stock differential setup but i'm sure this thing is factory underpowered for high speed used ... so it should be about the same result . The factory size tire with the 5.87 of gear and now with 6.72 and 42" tires keep excacly the same ratio size for size ... i even verify the stock speedometer with a gps and it work like it should ... exact same speed.
The 6bta will be upgraded to around 700 pounds of torque .... so keeping a decent highway speed will not be longer a nightmare. Also the good steering geometry help a lot ... i dont' have any bumbsteer at all, 55 mph with one finger on the steering wheel even on bumpy roads.Perfect alignement between the draglink and differentiel anda also running 20 psi in the rear and 25 up front.
Hope this help .......... :D
