Thanks for taking the time to post that up. Pretty helpful. I'm probably going to attempt making my own too.

I know I’ve been slow posting lately, but I managed to get the mill freshened up and looking snazzy. She’ll get bolted to the trans next weekend and I’ll get the mounts tacked in and a crossmember fabbed!

Well, the engine mounts went well. This trans crossmember is going to be the death of me though. Attempt #2 looks pretty good. Managed to figure out how to bolt to the trans mount and the transfer case at the same time. Just need to paint it, put the bushings in and weld the tabs to the frame!

Excellent work sir
Yes that is a nice looking crossmember. Your truck is an inspiration to many.
Now hurry up and finish it so we all can look some more. :D:D
Got it in finally! If I planned to do a bunch of hard core off-roading I would have spent more time getting it up between the rails instead of hanging down, but since she’s going to be a Sunday driver and mall crawler... https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ad48edf613.jpg

Well watch out for the speed bumps at the mall. You just might hang up on one...:D:D Looking great and it looks like plenty of clearance to me. One step closer right? I will be lucky to get paint on my frame before snow flies. So glad to see progress even though it is not mine. ;)
I love it when random things actually work without many mods!
I had some mustang brake system parts laying around from one of the race cars. Just in case anyone wants to convert to power brakes, SN95 mustang booster and master line up on the top 2 holes. I just made a 3/4” spacer, drilled the new holes, and the pushrod slipped right into the pedal like it was meant to be there! The master is a 2 port, so super easy to run to a proportioning valve (aftermarket proportioning valves are normally two in/three out).

Nice compact addition. And clean fresh paint is great to look at. Thumbs up!
You know sh*t is starting to get real when you pick up your brand new badass custom length 1410 series driveshafts! [emoji851]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...5f33eea736.jpg

Now that is some serious one ton stuff!! I just spent the last three evenings studying driveshafts and Universals in 1 ton 101. :happy10:
Very nice!
I don’t know how they could call these 1 1/4 ton trucks with these little driveshafts... The 1410’s make the original seem tiny!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f778c7a1fa.jpg
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I know right... Those 1310's can only handle so much power. I think the spring packs and rear axle capabilities combined with how much could be loaded into the bed helped get it's 1.25 ton capacity. Going 1410 is sort of a correction. 1350's and 1410's have the same huge bearing caps at 1 3/8 dia,
and huge cross section that gives it the strength. 1410's being wider can offer way more angle forgiveness which is pretty cool. 35-37 degrees verses 20 degrees for a 1350. 1410 yield torque is a stunning 2700 foot pounds. Then you have tube thickness. 0.83, 0.95 and 120 wall. I would imagine M715's hopefully have .120 wall tubes.
Beautiful parts. I hope to get that far soon.
It’s amazing how many little odds and ends are needed to finish all the details. A few stops and another shipment from Summit Racing and she might just be ready to fire next weekend! Then on to the brakes and getting the interior together!

Oh my, that picture has me drooling. Looking good!
I really need to stop getting side tracked. I was shopping on Summit racing the other day and was looking at cast aluminum valve covers. I’m sick of the seepage from the stamped steel ones on the motor, so I grabbed a cool set of satin black cast aluminum. Well, that lead to this. Another day “wasted” on something I really didn’t need to do. It would have been a hell of a lot easier if I had done it before paint and dropping the motor in for good! Oh well, it will be awesome when it’s all done! [emoji2369][emoji2361][emoji16]

I thought it was a good day to work on the old girl today, and thankful that I have the freedom to do so!
Got my clutch linkage fabbed up and installed. I’ve never done a mechanical clutch before, so hopefully this works out, lol.
Also got a flywheel shield fabbed (with integrated clutch return spring mount!) and started on the exhaust. After the exhaust I think the fab work is pretty much over except for seat mounts. Then onto wiring and getting the dash/column in.

Man that looks great! What, no fram filter??;);):)
Another milestone today. I know there’s no rocket science to the exhaust cause there’s so much room under there, but I still spent all day on it! Next time I think I’ll buy a Y pipe instead of fabricating one, lol.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...642273c60b.jpg

That's as cool as heck. Great Y pipe. You are getting close.
Yes, looks good. Years ago, I would make exhaust systems by using coat hangers and a Oxy/Acetylene torch. Probably didn't know what I was doing but it worked and I made many. Now, I have a Harbor Freight Mig but have only used it about two times.
Nice job!
Not gonna lie. Getting behind the wheel for the “first time” while measuring to make some seat mounts has fueled a second wind and has me working a little harder to get it driving! This thing is gonna be frickin cool! [emoji16]

Of course! Lol.

I can feel the excitement for you! Almost there brother.
Me too. I picture this project when I look at mine and feel so far away from driving it.
More please!!!:D
I’ve been getting lots of little stuff buttoned up. Weatherstripping is figured out, parking brake pedal is in, she has four shocks now, diffs, trans, and transfer case filled and motor oil in. Ordered a bunch of small parts and fasteners and put some nut inserts in for the door panels. My seat tracks came in and I think I have the driver mount mocked up how I want it. I think I’ll put the nose back on this weekend and run brake lines and figure out the rad. Might get some more wiring done too!

Found a good spot for the battery. Mounted the solid state relay station up front for the low beams, high beams, running lights, and fog lights in the bumper.

Brake proportioning valve will live here, just need to do all the plumbing. Mounted the washer fluid reservoir beside the master.

Wow, that thing is gorgeous. Tell us more about your LEDs in the stock housings, I'm interested in doing something along the same lines.
I just gutted the housing of all the stock stuff, designed the laser cut plates to bolt into the 4 posts and fit some 1157 bulb 90 deg sockets (that I had from another project). I’m not happy with those LED’s, I have some more on the way from superbrightleds.com (best quality and brightest LED bulbs I’ve found by far). I used amber bulbs and cleaned the orange off the inside of the stock lenses with acetone, it’s much more visible that way. I wired in 1157’s so that I can use them as running lights and turn signals.

Looking really good. Can you post a part number and source for the radiator? I have been looking for one that fits there with a passenger side lower. For a Buick 350. That one would be perfect. Love the E-brake, and the LED lighting.
Do you think you will have it running before snow melts this spring? You are so close. Everything looks just outstanding!
EDIT: Went back for another look. Are those LED courtesy lights under your dash by the E brake? If so, Did you get those from superbright ?
