The only draw backs I can think of are leaks and warps. Weld a little at a time all over the frame skipping a few inches and by the time you get back to the starting point, it should be cooled off and read for another 2 second burst.
I know this is one of those oxymoron phrases, but. Make sure you get the duece frame is right so it won't leak water. From outside the frame at least. We all know it is going to leak between the glass and frame.
Have fun with it and think of all the cool breezes you will enjoy.

Yeah, cool breezes, The windshield got knocked out by a tree this past weekend. It was MUCH cooler than before. I can't wait till this is done, it will be awesome.

Not sure how wide they are but the new 900 trucks are wider. I have a top at the house I can measure. It might fit better and not leave gaps on the sides.
-
This one is fine, but thanks for the offer. There is only a 4" strip I need to fill. Plus I can interchange the windows in all my trucks this way. It was real funny trying to drive the 725 after the deuce. LOTS of grinding. Can't wait to re-power.

Kept looking for 5th gear and to do the side shift did you?
-
Yeah, and started out in 2nd alot. Once the window is done, I am going to get ready for the driveline swap. A big block and deuce trans will help me. I'm even thinking of "linclon locking" the rear-rear. :)

Welp, the frame is now in. Lots of sanding and a little bondo. Don't laugh at the welds, I am a newb at welding.

Those welds look just fine, better than alot I've seen. Nice work, I would like to see the finished product once you get it done.
