Yesterday was his 19th birthday, actually! Sucky b-day for him, after he dropped me off to see his little sister (in Children's Hospital since Feb 8, but that's another thread), his engine "blowed up" on the way home. So if anyone has a line on a good 2003 2,3 Ford Ranger engine...
Great to see some familiar faces, so to speak!

M715 is down, has been since I installed new SS gas tank, filler hose and sending unit. Last I ran it, i hurt the engine. Dumbass me didn't check the oil, and took it for a quick hop, developed top end noise, but didn't sound terminal. Topped off oil and restarted it and it ran at high idle until it gradually slowed and stopped. Now cranks REAL slow, too slow to fire. Not sure, partially spin a bearing? Dunno. Went to swap in the spare engine I got from Oilcan when I last visited Gimpy, but it got stuck, can't unstick it. Now I'm at a crossroads. Small block Chevy with adapters? Stovebolt 6? Slant 6? 258 or 4.0? Orrrrrrr... Find a home for the 440 RV engine/727/NP 201? (202?) I have laying around? The 1 1/2 ton IH divorced T/Case I bought. Wound up putting my Kammer and Kammer (Mopar specialists out of Tipp City) 0.030-over 440/727/NP208 in my '87 W100 - Still wrapping that one up. Still, need to put the 715 back on the stove, maybe not front burner, but get some movement on it. Miss you guys!
Nagie's good, Sean's great, Elissa's on the mend and should come home this week. Gut stuff, infections, septic, lost over 20% body weight (not including the 2+ liters of fluid they drained)... Sick young lady for awhile, there! Thought we lost her. Local hospital diagnosed her with a simple virus, said give it two to four weeks to run it's course, a few days later she was in ICU in Columbus.. Bastiges!

Thanks, glad you're still here!

19 years old? Where has the time gone? He was an infant a couple months ago...LOL And your daughter is new news. Prayers for her permanent healing. Hospitals are now a profit based business. Best to avoid them if at all possible. But sometimes you just can't. Going septic is serious business. I lost an uncle to that in 2021. Lost an outstanding healthy wonderful wife here at home to a third bout of covid in 21 too. Don't get me started. I am still very bitter. What life brings sometimes ... My truck build has kept me going. I am so close now I just want to drive it. The right engine will show up for you. The cost of doing something like that now is high. But we need our hobby enjoyment. I hope to see you around and hope to see your truck get mobile again. There have been some really good times here on this site.

Hey Bump!
It's been a long time since you met me as a wide-eyed punk kid with a rusty truck on a trailer on Rt.33. That pile of rust is up and running now, and I have a spare 230 sitting in storage just north of Dublin. Let me know if you're interested.

Well that's an idea I guess. Funny I found all the digital pictures from our big FE at Land between the lakes in Kentucky. Was that 2007? While I have been sober 15 years now, my liver still hurts from that trip. Oh and to almost keep this thread on track... Facebook already knows what you look like today Jon.
