Ryan, Id like some pictures if you have them. Always good to see how something has been done before. If you have any pics of those MPT81s.... thatd be nice too:cool:

be warned when you go to cut the hole for the bushing tube, this will likely plague your attempt.

these are just normal lenght chevy front springs, so yours will be different no doubt with the 52s.
also when i set mine up the first time i did it with the stock wheelbase. i found after tacking everything and looking at it that moving the front axle 1 inch forward made it all look better and made the tires fill out the wheel well better
apparently i have like 1 of the least detailed pictured in the world that include those tires on the truck.
Ryan
No worries..... just been drooling over those tires for some time now. Cant wait til I can pull the trigger on them. Did you have any good or bad experiences with them.
I had originally planned on the 12.5r20 Michelin XLs but had heard several failure problems. Then I got on a Unimog site. One guy in Washington state has run them on a 14K vehicle for 80k miles and they are just under half tread! Not sure if thats an exaggeration but my vehicle weight will at least help tread life compared to what they rated for
Thanks for the hanger pictures. Ive been eyeballing that for a while, what to do, etc.
Austin
those tires where actually on a customer vehicle. it was a 67 715 with a common rail six speed and tons and tons of other stuff. it still isnt on the road so i cant tell you what the deal is with them, but i would think that they would last forever, and they are good looking tires. very stiff. i suggest paying someone to mount them. at least if you are going with a beadlock, bolt on ring style

Pretty welds on those hangers!
Those BTF brake brackets on the 14??
Got some work done over the weekend, just didnt have time to post the progress. Finished pulling the driveshafts, xfrecase, and tore the Dana 60 front outers down.
Caliper bracket has a sheared bolt which I just got back from the machine shop so the next full day I have Ill regear the front.

There was a mud dauber nest on the transfer case brake. I know these things fly in funny paths..... this must have been one heck of a ride for them
Dana 60 outers are off
