Good job on the wheels. It looks like they are actually 4 pieces? The two outer rims, center, and inside spacer ring?
How much are they going to weigh?

How much are they going to weigh?
They are 3 pieces .... outer, inner and the bolt pattern which you can modify easily to swap on any other differentiel .. We are also working on a special rock ring for that wheel .....
The estimated weight of a wheel .... around 80 pounds
Plus the weight of the XLZ 1100r20 ..... at least 180 lbs each complete wheel
Keep up the good work....and keep us up to date with pics....
thanks
Just went out of the paint shop .......... the fun part begin ..............

Lookin' GOOD!
Lookin' sharp! I can almost smell the new paint from here....Mmmmmmm....:D
A quick shot from the interior , and i received some stuffs from Vintage M715 including new weatherstrip for the windshield and cowl.

http://www.rockcrawlerquebec.com/php...em715parts.JPG
everything is installed .... new tinted glass with new rubber, the cowl weatherstrip ... it was very hard to clamp back the windshield with the new rubber .... but it will be water tight for sure . Also the new mirrors and arms are repro but they look like the were oem. With the battery box , the interior look really finished , it's funny how only the top of that box that cover those ugly batteries and mounting hardware can change the look of the interior. Now it's looking very good. I just need to finish to fit the newer front blackout; they are a lot bigger than the original and they need a custom spacer between the mounting bracket and the front clip.
Pics only next week ............ with the axles swap and springover conversion.
Here some pics about my shackle flip and the soon to ride Michelin tires. By this week end the truck is supposed to rest by itself on the complete finished rear setup.
Thanks for the help about that mad spring hanger .......... i have posted some nice pics of those hanger before and after the mods ...... http://www.m715zone.com/vb/showthread.php?t=9564&page=2

http://www.rockcrawlerquebec.com/php.../fuelltank.JPG
Even the retaining straps are still looking new and have their black paint still on them
will post next week pics with the new diff installed and under the truck weight ... it's huge ... mesured ( with the 42" ) 65" to the top of the bed .... this is just too much ;but for now it will be OK .... i will remove at least 2 leaves in each spring pack but only when the cummins will be installed 60" should be a good height... also for sure the shackle mount would use to be relocated maybe 1" in because of the shackle angle which will give me an horrible ride !!
I recceived also the new steering and had already bought the adapter two month ago.

Keep looking at this post ......... new update this week end .... Front D60 swap
didn't have much time working on the front end .... but i give a good day of working yesterday ..... cleaning and painting the diff with por-15 then Krylon OD , reassembled everything ... then cleaning the front oem diff out of the truck. Everything was closed so it ended with the d60 ready to be relocated under the truck but it was missing all wheels nuts. So next time ..........

I'm waiting for a guy in NY for my front rockwell .... next week !!!
WOW! You suck, nice tires AND combat rims to boot! Are they (those rims) easy to comeby up there?
How would I get some of those rims?
I am really starting to worry about you guys......
an attractive young lady, and obviously very supportive... ( no offense intended, Kazi....) in the pic and you guys are spazzin out over truck tires and wheelsparts.....
ROY, its like crack, you see nothing other than green! I warn eveyone, like sooooo many others here, I started with a 725. It was all down hill drom there. Get out now, while you can. :)
Thoses rims are hard to find ..... they came from M104 cdn trailer or need to bought an entire M35 ... so they are expensive ... and they comes with already mounted brand new 11.00r20 XZL ... around $1000 for a set of 4
And yes i'm luck because my wife is supporting me .... as long as i don't tell here how much i'm investing in the truck
I have been bitten by a OD bug ..... now everything should be OD ... my wife refused to let me paint the familly van ... i'm sure my venture could have look nice freshly painted OD with tinted windows !! :D:D
The guy that i supposed to get his front rockwell giving me hard time because he's not sure that it will be a spicer type front ..... But i reserved a set in Northumberland, PA. So Tuesday will be going there to complete my truck !!! They are just removed from a 1500 miles m35
Wow....sounds like it will be awesome kazi. Can't wait to see it.
Gimpy....the green addiction has already cost me alot of another shade of green...
Just get home .... with a set of almost new Rocks axles .... 1500 miles on thems .. worth the 18 hours of road to PA to have thems. With a good cleaner and pressure washer .... they didn't have any spots of rust anywhere ..... just need to change the boot on the front one. I will repainted them with POR-15 ( bought 2 gallons ) and will post pics this week end with the diff painted and installed !! So keep looking for updates .............

http://www.rockcrawlerquebec.com/php.../m715/0021.JPG
Just getting home ..... give a little work on the 715 this afternoon .... The bedliner coating is now finished .... look very nice !!
And i have prepped the frame. diffs and others acc for the painting ...... So 1 gallon of POR-15 went under the truck this afternoon .... everything got the treatment, the only place left is the cab floor pan between the frame rail and under hood. Will be painting them when the powertrain will be out for the swap.

What were you doing ?? Keep the undercarriage black or painted OD like the rest of the truck ??
Nice job ! Havent been here for a while , so I havent seen this. I believe I would have went with the Cummins , if I did it again. I have had two 1st gen trucks since I built my M715 and love those Cummins. I didnt know how bad to the bone they were especially when Hot rodded.:happy10:
Dont quit, or cut corners, you will be glad when your done.:D
I vote black.
all of the underhood and undercarriage on my truck is getting flat black. it is the only way to go
Ryan
So the undercarriage will be black .... if i ever change my mind i will surely very easy to paint OD over the por-15
Also ... i'm not sure of doing it .... since i must paint lusterless white stars on the doors and hood .... what about the JEEP letters on the tailgate ?? leave them OD or paint the same lusterless white than the stars ??
You may want to topcoat the POR15 as it is UV sensitive. If it sits outside, the Sun will hit some of your undercarriage. Just use a good Quality flat or gloss black, if you want to keep it black.
I personally like an offsetting color on the Jeep letters on the tailgate...though the military would have had them OD.
Really, really nice work, what did you do for the ubolts and spring perches?
Thanks for the good comments !!! So i will coat the Por-15 with some tremclad black. For now i will leave the JEEP letters OD but surely will change my mind with the stars painted.
For the u bolts and perchs .... customs springs perchs made from 2½" hitch square tubing and the u bolts are 5/8 x 3½ ID x 9" long . For now nothing is weld because i must find the correct caster for the front diff. I think that the stock perch are built with 5 degree in front .... but will need to check for exact caster before welding everything.
Will keep this posted updated as soon as i received my others parts for the steering and driveshaft and the cummins 6bta swap
keep up the good work, it's making me want to work again, but It;s looking like I have to move to texas prior to any more work, but I'm going similar, 450Hp BBC with fuel injection, NV4500, divorced 205 and rockwells with 395/85R20 on stazworks custom beadlocks...
although it might be real nice to find a set of those canadian beadlocks if you come across another set...
Really lookin' good, Kazi.
I surely can have more but they are too expensive .... and they come with brand new 11.00r20 XZL. It took me a long time before having them because the guy doesn't want to sell his spare set ... but i was having brand new firestone airbags ... so we exchange everything .... so the setup cost me $1500 and it's more and more difficult to get somes ..... it took me 5 hours to get them home and if you want it be prepare to pay too much for shipping because 4 of them weight 1000 pounds ( wheels and tires )
But they are very nice .... OEM and DOT approved stamped on the wheels
nothing really moved here because all the works is going under the truck or in the cab ... the only improvement are the addition of the stars
http://www.rockcrawlerquebec.com/php...5/m715star.JPG
My custom hi steer arm is under construction .... i found one locally but i need to have it bend and reamed for tie rod. I also received my rockwell 1410 flange for the driveshafts, but will only do the rear because my appointment is already taken to my friend shop for the powertrain swap.
I'm waiting for a rear pinion brake but i will use it only for parking brake with the use of a 77 eldorado caliper
http://www.diy4x.com/images/brakes/r...nionbrake2.jpg
So next things to do is the brake system , change the muffler and give a final check out before going to my local inspection center .... so by mid september it should be running good in Quebec.
I also had the chance to talk ( a short one because the group was waiting for me ) with two other M715 owners on a local trail .... so now i know at least 3 other M715 near by in Canada . Surely will have a canadien M715 meet next year.
Hello,
