Loren,
Thank God you are with us!! That counts most.
Please add me to the list of people needing a set of these seals.
Happy to hear you made it!
I'll take one set please.
Thank you.
Sorry to hear about the heart attack, and glad you made it!!- gonz
Hey Loren, I don't want to hijack this thread, but would you mind posting a short description of your symptoms when you had the heart attack. It might help someone not delay getting some help some day.
If you don't want to do that, no worries...
I'm 42 and starting to think about that stuff.
Hope those are the last of your troubles with your heart.
Al.
But of course Al means for that to get posted in the Family Forum, right, Al?! ;)
Heh, heh, heh....
If your still counting, add set one for me.
Thanks,
Put me down for one set.
Put me in for a set as well.
Glad you pulled through. You can count me for a set.
count me in for a set, Please.
I would like a set also, Please
I'll take a set as well
If it helps to finance the project i would also take a second set :)
Btw. maybe the mods can change the subject of this thread and make it sticky so its more easy to find
Got you down for a possible second set, Tomcat.
This thread is in a tech forum, so it will be permanently saved. Interest has slowed down on the door seals for now as most who know about the possibility of getting them here have already chimed in.
Eventually either someone will discover the thread and bring it to life again, as you did, or someone will ask about door seals in another thread and one of us old-timers will cough this thread back up. Either way, once it's back on the front page, those who missed it before or are new members will get a chance to sign up too.
But if the Admins want to make it a sticky, they could do that too. Either way, it'll be around.
Put me down for a set.
What is the latest on the making of the seals? In a holding pattern or is it being worked on? There might not be a LOT of guys on the forum wanting them, but I absolutely believe MV parts retailers would snatch up high volumes as well. Nobody has them.
Tomorrow, I'm heading to the salvage yard to outfit my rig with door weather-strip. I just can't wait any longer.
It can't be that difficult to find some rubber that will seal the door-to-cab areas. Even if I have to pull some rubber from a foreign POS, I'll have a nice and tight cab by Sunday morning.
Has anybody else gone this route? I'd like to hear from you, as it may save some time at the yard. I think the only tricky one will be that funky rectangular block piece #5 that attaches to the dash area.
This waiting has gone on long enough! :D
I agree, can we source another maker? I know these things don't just happen overnight but my cab awaits!
glad to here your doing better
put me down for a door set
and a windshield to cowl seal
Count me in for one set, please.
Markness: Let me know if you want me to remove your name from the list.
Warwick & gilberto, I have you each down for a set.
Warwick: This thread is about the door seals. The windshield-to-cowl seal is already available through, I think, Memphis, though VaM715 did say he was interested in looking into making those as well. But the windshield seals will be another thread! ;)
sory to hear about your ticker problems, glad to hear you pulled thru, keep up the good recovery and don't overdo it...
Binford, please keep me on the list. If for nothing else, but to make the venture more financially viable. Remember, I'm interested in at least one set, but potentially two.
I just needed to get something done to keep the snow out of the cab and I'm just trying to stay warm on those fun weekend drives. I had a another 4" skiff of snow overnight and I just went out and checked my nice dry cab...woohoo!
The weatherstrip was so easy to do and it also took care of all the little rattles in the doors and glass. Unfortunately, my drivers door is pretty bent up, so I couldn't get a good seal around it and still get it to shut nice. When I straightened it out, the glass doesn't seal well at the top, but at least I got that front mid-top corner hole sealed.
The POS truck is so modified already, that I didn't mind adapting the yard weatherstrip. I wouldn't do this to my stock truck, since I used J Series, IH Scout II and Ford Ranger parts. Plus it's just temporary anyway, right?
I would also be interested in a set possibly 2 sets now that my cab is in primer. Never thought I would see the day!
Time to revive this thread...
And again....
And still no rubber?
Can we source another supplier maybe? I'm no good at that kind of stuff but anyone who is has my support.
Well, there's apparently no source for original-style seals, so VaM715 was going to make the molds to get them produced. We'll have to see where he stands on getting this done. If he's not interested in getting on it, then we should seek out someone who is.
I'm in for a set too. I hope VaM715 can get this done, but his recovery from the MI is WAY more important.
VaM715, get healthy, then get busy! Thanks for all of your time and effort from all of us at the Zone!
Jeff
Loren,
Perhaps we can get a progress report? There seems to be some anxiety about the seals being forgotten about. I think an update would push the 'reset' button on everyone's patience meter.
Sounds like a fairly intricate process - could you post pics and walk us through how the molds are made??
Snuffy
Progress report? Last time VaM715 replied to this thread was March 27th, and it appears that the last time he was on the Zone was June 10th.
Anybody know how to contact him?
We could always call up his local Sheriff's Office and send a Deputy around to check on him..........(just kiddin')
But wouldn't that be a hoot? hahahaha
I'll be surprised if this actually happens. I would love the factory door weather stripping, but I have already bought the civilian style. I would still be on the list for at least one factory set. If it ever happens.??
I still need a set, but I'm not holding my breath either.
So has anyone ever been able to reproduce these door corner seals??
