I wish I could do that...I try on scrap and it looks like a purposely bad cartoon version in comparison...
Nice work!
I mounted my driver's seat today and mounted the napa universal mirrors with nutserts. I want to beable to easily unbolt the mirrors to go offroading. I still have to duplicate the seat position for the passenger side.
the seats look nice, what are they out of?
They are brand new Smittybilt replacement CJ2A seats. They are so comfortable I might add
Today has been a busy day. First I went to South Windsor to pick up my drag car from the chassis shop. Them I went to visit Todd and his neighbor Dave. I got to see Todd's ex-brush truck and he took me for a ride through some old rutted roads. He gave me a set of shackles for the rear of my truck and I bought a set of tail gate hinges and a brush guard
I went to work first thing this morning to make use of the parts I bought off of Dave yesterday. Even despite clamping the tailgate to some 3/16 wall tubing, it still managed to twist a little. oops

I haven't finished it yet, but I mounted the CJ7 wiper assembly on my windshield. I remember Gwen only using two bolts to mount the motor because he didn't want to have an exposed bolt when the top was on. I wanted the support of the a third bolt so I lined up the hole with the factory threaded hole in the windshield frame

I mounted my Hurst Qtr Stick shifter today. Also when I removed my gas tank the other week I realized my rubber fuel fill hose was not in as good of shape as I thought. I also am aware that these things are hard to come across new so I decided to eliminate any future problem with it, while still retaining the awesome look of the 4" filler neck. I used a 4ID-3OD adapter and a 3" 90deg tube to modify the neck and a 4" long 3" silicone coupler. I still have yet to smooth the welds and check for holes.

I ordered 5 new tires for my truck today. 385/70R16 Toyo Open Country M/T's. They will be here tuesday. Time to order rims lol
There are more of these things in CT than I thought. How much for the cj wiper conversion Im doing the same and was gonna go with the cheap stuff. But would rather fix it once.
Alot of pics to show your progress, that great. You look like you're taking it one step at a time. Patience must really help. Keep up the good work.
all new wiper assembly was $207 (wiper motor $85, linkage $80, arms $28, blades $14). I just spent about $2500 today 8-O. 5 Toyo 385/70R16 (38x14.5R16) M/T's, 5 Marsh 16x10 5bs rims. That more than doubled the total cost of my truck!! I can't wait to get them in and see them in person. TownFair Tire had 4 in their CT warehouse and one in Maine. I still have atleast a month worth of work left to go on my truck before paint and then wiring and final assembly. Then the dreaded vin verification in order to register lol
I picked up four of my five new tires. My mini van only carries two at a time lol. I will get the fifth one tomorrow. I was so excited waiting to pick them up earlier today lol

Just looked at your pics, but one thing I'd suggest:
Either use a piece of rubber hose between the filler neck and the pipe, or between the neck and the tank.
I know the tank and neck are both mounted to the bed, but any movement at all will cause the filler to crack at the tank, and even normal vibration will do that.
And the original filler hoses are still available in new production from Memphis Equipment. Last I checked they were around $80.
I have a 4" long piece of silicone hose (in first pic). The tank is not welded to the neck. There is duct tape on the opening in the tank. I didn't want any mishaps when I tack'd the neck together.
Ahhhh, now I see it!
That looks almost exactly like a weld bead around the neck. :D
Carry on.......
I still need to have the tank tanked before I start doing things to it.
I sent my front marker lights out to be fitted with LEDs
after 1-1/2 months, my Marsh rims have been shipped! He was out of 16x10 shells and had to wait for them. I ordered (5) 16x10" 5bs black rims.
How tall are those tires ?
37.7" I believe
Nice build. One thing I noticed in your video and one of the pics is it looks like your truck has quite a bit of rake. Maybe someone has jacked with your springs a little. You might want to check that out since I don't think there is supposed to be hardly any rake at all. Neither one of my trucks has any.
The rear shackle has been flipped. I am going to put it back for the mean time
Cool. Easy fix then.
The rake does help me see over the hood since I have my seat mounted lower than stock so my thighs don't rub the steering wheel lol
Nice! One big purchase down...many more to go. Hahaha. Sexy rims, my friend!
- doc
:Dhehe got the same wheels and yes they are badass :D
Truck just got picked up to go for paint. I'll see it back in about a week
wow, some pretty expensive rubber! Nothing like new tires with the sticker and "nubbies" still on them though...
I stripped apart my '89 Dodge W350 SRW. The parts are going to be saved to convert the drivetrain in my truck over to 360/727/205 & D60F/60HD. I'm going to wait till either the 351C or C4 give me problems. I stripped it because I no longer need it since I got myself a '93 Cummins D350 to pull my trailer now.
The nose still has to be painted as well as the tailgate and windshield frame

Seeing your shiny firewall brings a question to mind: are those 4 threaded holes one each side all that is holding the front clip to the firewall?
Cool color, one of my friends father had a Hudson that color
