Stainless brake/vacuum/fuel lines

I borrowed a friends bender and double flare set. I built a couple rear axle brake lines for practice, as I didn't allow for the rear bump stops, oops. Anyway, I will be installing new to me backing plates, shoes, and wheel cylinders, thanks Dan. Then finish up my rear end bearings. I bought all my brake line stuff from Napa, they are military green in color and you can hand bend the lines, they have a coating on them. I suggest using the bender whenever possible. I'll be starting on my homemade brake lines shortly. The most difficult one will be the rear axle tube brake line, other than that piece of cake.

I've owned cheap double flaring kits before they are not worth it, regardless of brand. You can get by with a cheap bender, but a quality tool will make consistently good flares. Also realize stainless is more difficult to work than normal tube, so a quality tool is a MUST in my book.

The only thing the cheapo double flaring kits will get you is frustrated.

I did the classic thing, cause the truck just sits and I didn't want them rusting out anymore. It's NOT fun to shoot through an intersection, I didn't hit anything, but I went home and changed pants/ brake lines!

No foolin'! After test install, remove hose(s) and tighten ALL connections.

Once installed, these look and work great!

That quote Brute posted was from me. I ended up ordering just the fuel and brake lines, as the vent & vac lines put me way over budget. Definately not cheap but they fit flawlessly. I couldn't believe the fuel line that runs from the fuel pump, under the engine, around the oil plan to the frame rail was bent perfect. Only had one shipping bend in the fuel lines and one in the brakes. It did take a couple weeks to arrive. They threw in a free brake bleeding kit.
As good as they were, on my other truck I'm gonna bend my own as suggested by others above. My lines were so bad I didn't have a template to work with on the first truck. Now I can use these as a template. Makes sense to put the money into tooling that you'll have for ever.
