I always stopped before going into 1st...the other gears, with synchro, easy to get used to downshifting...but the steep non synchro first always eluded me doing it smoothly unless I stopped...

Exactly. Things have changed, my Mustang and Subaru are synchronized in first gear and get this, even in Reverse!Quote:
