This is what we call a Quail rack. You ride up front driving down miles of ranch roads looking for quail in the brush. Plus, the driver can watch you buddies with there guns. Hauling your animals back to camp! Or hunting buddies!

WELCOME TO TEXAS!

The inside view, I left the OEM frame and used automotive caulk between the roof and the pipes. I didn't want to damage or weld to the frames.

The oustide is skip welded to the cab of the truck. The main roof is from drip channel across the top to the over side drip channel. I then welded the little vertical side plates in.
I installed a rearwindow with sliding glass (aka..beer window)from a Toyota truck.
Made it from 14 ga sheetmetal and used the windsheild frame for a template for the raduis. Add a little extra room around the windshield so that it will clear when you open/close it.
If you look at the front right corner you will see a squre tubing support that helps hold the roof. It's welded to a flatbar frame that goes across even with the top of the windshield frame for a seal. And the sq. tubing bolts to the dashboard. Hope this helps? I will look for more photo's. Sorry about the last photo its rotated wrong!
Thank you! That looks about as simple to fab as I was hoping it would be, and on these trucks simple fits right in.
Don't bring reality into this...I prefer to continue thinking of it as a 4wd grill that can handle 7 hogs at once! Gut, baste, drive over fire!
