I'm only up to a little over $2,200 so far. I still need to finish my engine (1000-20000, lockers and lockouts (1000-1200), tires (300-1000) and so on. I have a list of part numbers and prices that I want to do that this morning totals $12,879 of money yet to be spent.

I'm afraid to add it up!

I, too, have saved all my reciepts...and am sorry every time I add them up.
Counting every bolt and tie-wrap I have about $9800 in it. That excludes the cost of the fire arms that I traded for my new Magical 427 Tall Deck.
Nor for the hurtful part- How much could you sell it for- realistically.
I think I could get $4500 for mine w/ the winch and all. That's an ad in the paper sale.
Depressing.

I love the M7xx trucks and think any amount of money spent whether large or small just goes to show how much we love these trucks and to us they are Priceless :D

$675 Purchase price
$100 extra motor
$150 other parts from AB + others
Not much invested yet but it ain't pretty!

The nickle and dime deal kills with these things. And the related purchases can suck too. I've spent $4500 on a burb dedicated tow rig $1600 on a trailer with a winch to load broken jeeps, 800 on a tube bender. This doesn't even count the 715 itself. :(

I have a tough time with the word "invest" as applied to this thread. "dumped down the drain" is more appropriate, yes?
Since there is no recouping on monies spent, it's not a succesfull investment, so we may as well eschew failure and admit squandering.

If you guys keep tweaking your trucks into sweet off road machines (please do), my stock M715 should bring buku bucks should I ever decide to sell since its going to be all stock and there are fewer and fewer out there.
Therefore it will indeed be an investment. Not why I'm in this though. I love my truck and most likely will never sell. Not unless I find out I'm a father or something....
