The speed placard on the data plate is there, but completely blank. No words or even remnants of words at all. And with the crappy tires that the truck came with, 30 was plenty fast enough!

I take it you put the XLs on after you got it? BTW, you have the driver's side tires on backward...

If that's the case, then Porkchop, Socal and several others have some tire-rotating to do!
Seriously, I just copied how I'd seen others do it. Is it backwards?!

Passenger sides are like that, the driver side is reversed to preserve the non-directional aspect.
I'll post a pic as soon as I can find one...

But they are directional tires??? i dont get it. So you're supposed to rotate them constantly? I heard that the tire gets ruined that way(running backwards).
Has anyone heard this????

The tires themselves are not "directional", meaning they can be mounted both ways. Most people do mount them with the center tread "pointing" forward, but on a military vehicle I have always seen them with the pass. side mounted facing forward and the driver side facing rearward. The idea is that the tracks left by the truck will run both ways so the "enemy" cannot figure out which way the convoy was moving, same with the old NDTs, or "Non-Directional Tires."

Super interesting.
So you can't hurt them or wear them faster running them AKA "backwards"?

I really don't know. The military runs them like that, but they aren't exactly concerned about tire wear since they replace them at the slightest whim. I plan on running mine like that simply for ease of rotation, and for the spare to work in all positions.
