Do you mean, "Electronic"? Ah, come on, you know that the stuff in today's vehicles is just smoke and mirrors! I guess that since my truck doesn't get daily use, the old Kettering points and condenser (now called a capacitor :rolleyes:) seems to work for me. And thank goodness for finding a used original coil instead of that silkworm coil that was in it...Quote:

I still have a Pertronix replacement, but since the truck starts and runs great, I haven't got around to changing it out.

:D I agree. I have points and condenser in the '65 Corvair. My cousin (three doors away) has points and condenser in his '65 Corvair. They start and run just great. I can actually work on them! My cousin... that is a different story. He has never changed oil in a vehicle and he has instructed his kids that his eulogy should include same ;)Quote:

Thanks. The coupe was my cousin's and he got the convertible and I bought the coupe from him. He had most of the restoration done before I bought it.Quote:
