i agree, but i came out a little taller than i had originally intended, but it will be fine. still not to tall to toss firewood into even after i build the 2 foot side extentions for the bed.

i would have to clear it with the "boss" she wants me to build her a toy next, but i am alway looking for something to do.

Nice job Ryan. Next time you post pictures of a torched frame post some finished pictures with it. I would also agree radical approach for fitment of the radiator. But I too used what I had and made it work, so I could see myself doing something similiar because I had the know and materials. Can't wait to see more pictures keep them coming. I agree with Markness the trucks stance is very nice.

I'd add a small piece of advice for you, and you may already be aware of this:

When you mount the radiator, you should build a frame or some type of mount for it and not mount it solidly to the core support sheet metal. I mounted my aluminum radiator to the core support, and I am now noticing some small cracks on the mounting brackets welded to the tanks. I had to do some similar surgery to my core support to move the radiator a bit further forward for engine clearance, and I think it took some of the rigidity out of it, and when flexing on the trail, it puts more stress on the radiator now.

I am planning on a small tube frame to hold the radiator, that has a rubber mount system to isolate it from the body. I'll post it up when I build it.

As far as comittment, I;d say you're already pretty far along in that with the scope of the other work you've already completed. As always, nice work!

using what i had was the main reason it all happened. the radiator was free, and you just can't beat that price.

as for finished pics, ask and you shall receive. the air ine was ice free today.

i will be adding some form of movement/vibration reducer to take up the extra space and keep the radiator from moving and flexing next week.

If you discussed this already, I completely missed it. But what's the deal with the mount on the inboard side of that spring. Did you tap some holes on the differential housing for those bolts, or is that how it comes from the factory and I'm just a Larry for even asking this question?

thanks, i missed your post earlier. the radiator is setting in the frame buckets on some foam rubber isolators. i will make a "floating" clamp for the top that bolts to the core support to hold it down and from falling into the fan. it wont actually be mounted to the core support just using it as a locator.

Stock GM radiator hoses from the donor chevy fit the m715 with only 1.5 inches needing trimmed fromt he lower. that is exciting since i wont have to worry about funny part numbers or impossible to find parts if i am out in the boonies.

i bolted the front clip together, and made my top rad mount, but i left the camera at the shop. hopefully some pictures tomorrow.

i also ordered some high zoot header gaskets and a proportioning valve along with some other brake line parts, so that will be on the list as soon as it arrives
