What is your intercooler out of?
Twins are always nice.
Using a Ford chasis intercooler. They come in several sizes, this one just happened to fit. There are several overall and neck differences that I do not know how they were optioned or if it was a supplier related issue. I figure this blind squirrel got a nut.
Its roughly 38-40 inches at the outlets and 20 inches tall and 3 deep
Are you cutting into the core support or the firewall for rad/innercooler clearance?
The frame and core support both must be massaged for what I am doing. The fron valance panel will only have two holes cut for the intercooler. The fenders may have to be clearanced for the intake pipes. If so, I will french in whatever is cut out for looks and keep mud and debris out.
What did you set the caster angle at for your front end? On your front spring mounts, what is the measurement from the bottom of the frame to the center of your spring eye? Did that give you the caster angle you wanted or will you have to shim the front axle? I checked with the local tire shop and the alignment book called for 6 - 8 degrees caster for the front. I have an angle finder, but it is hard to get a good reading at this point. I am new to a lot of this. Thanks
I plan on shimming my angles out once I have weight on the springs. I set the axle with 2-4 degrees positive so a large shim would not be needed. Well 204 is what worked out naturally and it was real close so I went with it in the interest of time haha.
Cylinder head comes back from the shop monday!!!! The wrong time to have Diesel machine work done is at the end of tractor pulling season......especially if you are not a sponsored puller
Troop,
I got to looking at the truck a little last night. The caster is between 5-8 as it sets.....Im learning from a great fab guy which help. Ill try and get some frame measurements. Some will not be of use as I have modified my frame (cutting front frame hangers, etc).
Well getting Cummins performance machining done is best done NOT at the end of pulling season hahah.
Well the head is back!
