I like that vintage of motor too. Nice buildup, should be a nice truck.

Thanks, I hope so too. I am begining to wonder if I should have done Rocks instead of a Dana 60:rolleyes:
If I start snapping shafts or going through joints, there will be rocks with wheel brakes for sure:D
Got the axle shafts together (upgraded 35 pline outers). Also busted the doubler apart to switch input shafts since I am going married now. Should be some more good updates from this weekend if work doesnt get me haha
So is there any fitment issues with the motor and frame rails? I was thinking I read on another build thread, on here, that the newer 94 and up motors were wider at the bottom and wouldn't fit in between the frame rails.
Rocks with wheel brakes is what I will be going with on mine when I get to that point.

All B series motors are essentially the same. The difference is electronics, accessories, etc. The blocks are the same. You can take a 24 valve head and put it on a 12V block with 24v pistons.
I have read several places that you cant fit an intercooler or you have to put the back two cylinders in the cab, etc. I am not seeing that at all. I have more room with a 6B than I did with the J10 4B i had. I think this will settle a lot of debates once done.
Anything can be done with time, money, and a plasma cutter:D
Long overdue update

Next was time to start on the front suspension. The frame was drilled and a bushing welded in for the shackles. The picture is with some mock up shackles I had lying aroung

With the offset shackles in

For the front hangers, the plates were welded in and the spring bolted in

The hangers were then covered with another piece of steel

Once the plate was tacked in. The bolts were removed as the entire piece was permamant. The sleeves were welded from the inside for good measure

I got a tilt column and intermediate shaft that will work. The steering gear box mount was cut out and a new one will be put in

Nice job on the front suspension.
What is the width on the bushings on the rear front hangers? How long are your front springs eye to eye?
