Anyone know PERSONALLY of a source for main bearings and caps besides VPW and MECO? Looking for standard original (wishful thinking) or suitable substitutes THAT YOU HAVE USED AND TRIED thus certain of their suitability. Not interested in maybes, might's, knew someone who, probably-should-could work. So much time/money/labor invested to give up but considering it. Sincerely appreciate any experienced help!
I don't have solid use this advice. Or known experience. But you might try Kanter or some of the older vintage companies. The 230 was super popular in South America and used way more there. Good luck in the search.
This is good advice. Kanter found me a NOS camshaft for my 230.
Other than that, I see Federal Mogul bearings for the 230 Tornado on ebay. But standard size, not so much.
I would give Willys America a call.
