Front axle twist

This pic is of my stock front short shaft. I've know for a long time it was the weak link in the stock drive line. It come out of a open diff, stock 230 truck that run 44's at one time.
Has anyone been able to come up with a good aftermarket swap, of better quality? Correct me if i'm wrong. I believe ford run the 30 spline up untill sometime in the 90's. Does any of fords axles swap into these stock axles? I was thinking say something like a high alloy 30 spline from a 90's Dana 60? Has anyone found a good fit?
