I never have left my truck unattended. It is parked and locked in the shop every night.

this was on my 725 when I got it works well no one has broke it so far.
Don't forget the drain plug on the bottom of the tank! I am waiting for the day someone pulls fuel out my deuce thinking its diesel! That will be a heck of a bill. :)
Mine came with a short piece of chain welded to the iller neck and a single loop from the chain welded to the cap. I have seen others done this way...probably some motor pool addition. If one puts the chain in the right position and tightens the cap and locks everything, its good.
Of course there is the drain plug on the bottom and that $100, roughly, fuel hose from the filler neck to the tank...easy for the crook...could be expensive for you.

I'd think it'd take a pretty brave thief to try and steal gas from a truck that looks like the owner would be heavily armed. Not that any of us are.....:D
We have had people's tanks drained at work during business hours. I know there is no way to prevent the determined theif. Looking for something to maybe make them go to something easier.
The chain is a good idea. Think I will try that unless something else comes to mind.
I would rather they take the fuel out of the cap instead of cutting the rubber elbow with a knife or ripping the drain plug out. Plus, most people who look at my truck can't figure out where the fuel cap is. They all think that big cap is for some other purpose.
True. And most crooks are prob too dumb to figure out how to get the screen out of the filler neck.Quote:

If you do go to a chain...take a look at the 2nd pic I posted above and remember the cap turns CCW to remove. There are 2 possible ways...or is it 3...to put the cap on...if I dont put mine so that it sits like it is in the pic, even locked, the cap can be opened. Only like it is above will it work.
