Barclay's Pics

This is my 1967 Kaiser M715. Over the past four years I have been building and modifying my Jeep for off-road fun. The list of modifications is long, but in the end, one of my goals was to not destroy the original design of this great vehicle. I rebuilt the Chevy 400ci myself before installing it in front of the SM465 tranny. The axles are original, but the rear contains a Detroit locker, while the front houses a Lock Right. The front suspension is sprung over, with the rear recently converted to a triangulated four link coil suspension on Dodge coils. I shortened the bed by 12 inches, and fabricated the rear bumper. The front bumper, rocker guards, and roll bar are also fabricated by my father and I. The truck currently rides on 38 in. TSL's but beadlocks and 40 in. MTR's are on the way. The truck runs hydraulic ram assist steering, dual optima red top batteries, synthetic winch line through a self fabbed aluminum fairlead, and weighs in at an impressive 5,500 lbs. All work, short of the rear suspension and engine swap, has been done by myself. The Jeep was featured in a 3 page article in the Jan. 2004 issue of Jp Magazine. As with most things, it is, and probably always will be a work in progress. These pictures are from Moab Utah, Tellico NC, and Greenville SC where I'm from. Starting my first semester at Clemson Univ. has really lowered the amount of time I have to work on the Jeep that we have affectionately named G.I. Joe.
