There have been a few different models of the M715 made. I received an email from Rod with the following 3 pictures and this info:
It is of a HO scale (1/87) M715 made by Trident and cast in white metal. I built this a few years back and it sits on my shelf proudly. This model is available. Here's a link to Walthers, who is the major distributor of model railroad stuff:

The following 2 pictures are from a different one that sold on Ebay for $100. There wasn't a lot of info in the accompanying text but it did say, "This piece is heavy slush metal (weighs 1lb 6oz) and is 6-3/4" long."
